Hey everyone!
I’m fairly new to Linux—my only real experience so far is with Mint—but I’ve started exploring Omarchy, and I really like what I’m seeing. I’m aiming for an OS setup that’s both visually appealing and productive.

I have a question for anyone running Omarchy with an NVIDIA GPU (in this case, an RTX 3060.) Is it possible to get everything working smoothly with this GPU? And is it viable enough to daily drive for programming and browsing? I’m planning to dual-boot with Windows 11 on a separate 500 gb m.2 so I can switch between the two as and when required.

Also, if anyone could share their installation procedures or setup tips for Omarchy—especially on NVIDIA hardware—I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any guidance or experiences!

There is an entire text channel called Nvidia just an fyi. There are many of us running nvidia and it works out of the box. If you want to game there is a couple people in gaming who have scripts to download all you would need as well as solutions to various issues with certain games.

Yes it is viable to daily drive for programming as that is all I do on it. A couple helpful things - omarchy comes with Mise out of the box. docs here - https://mise.jdx.dev/
Also uses starship prompt - https://starship.rs/guide/
Idk your familiarity with those but if you want your terminal (if you plan to stick with bash shell that is) to show things like pyenv you might want to read up on those two.

I also recommend checking out the omarchy manual - lots of good stuff in there and watch DHH's youtube video on it as he gives a nice rundown of how to move around the system, some files to edit, installing packages, etc..
