It would be nice to have the ability to see all players on the server when pressing tab or similar button. Seeing players ping, and possibly other info like the controller or device being used can be implemented later on.

in rocket league i use r3 for playerlist and i would suggest tab for keyboard?

I would say when in online mode make tab open an overlay for players and ping, then you can have a page over with leaderboards. That could be used for a friend’s system later on.
All other settings and the map can be accessed with esc.
