First thing to check (aside from them successfully having connected to the tailnet) is that your ACL isn't blocking anything
Thanks for the reply! Yeah I had a look and I have a * * * ACL rule. I assume that means anyone can access anything from anywhere.
Yea exactly, and that's the default so that makes sense.
Have you confirmed that they've got the tailscale client installed and are successfully connecting to the tailnet? Do you see their device under machines in the admin dashboard and does it say connected?
yeah I was with them in person. I made sure tailscale got installed. I don think I have seen their device though.
is there an option for them to choose to connect my tailnet specifically? instead of their own
Yes, they should be able to switch by right clicking the tailscale icon in the status bar (assuming windows)
And if you don't see the device in the admin dashboard they've never connected. In which case it makes sense that it doesn't work 😅
actually it's iOS 😁 I forgot to mention
🫣 been using Tailscale for months and I didn't know. 🤣
No worries, I believe it is still possible to switch accounts I just don't know exactly how because I don't use iOS
But this should point you in the right direction: https://tailscale.com/docs/features/client/fast-user-switching?tab=ios#adding-an-account-using-the-client-application
Haha we learn new things all the time! 😁
all good. thank you very much for the kind words and help! I will try do some investigation myself and see if I can figure it out. got a spare device to pretend to be another user. 😁
hell yeah!
okay selecting tailnet seems to be happening during sign-in page on iOS
