Hi,

I had asked in the live stream yesterday

"So I've got a jellyfin server setup on an old MacBook Pro 2015. It's running macOS 10. I'm using Cloudflare tunnels to have my jellyfin server "public" (not the best I know), was trying to use tailscale but macOS 10 not supported. any work arounds ?"

Alex answered briefly saying that it's not supported anymore due to something about Go not supporting that macOS version anymore. Which is fine, understood.

I came across something that i can use an Apple TV as a hub or something to make it like a point of contact in my tailnet. so it would work like "old macbook <--> apple tv <--> my new macbook" when im away from home.

That would be running your Apple TV as a subnet router. It’s possible, but it requires a little bit of work.

It’s basically half of a site-to-site connection, so this guide might help.

The documentation there suggests that it only works on Linux, but it should also work on an Apple TV if you follow this guide to advertise the routes, instead of running any of the command-line commands.

Tailscale

Learn how to connect two subnets in your tailnet with each other.

Tailscale

Install the Tailscale client on an Apple TV.
