#DLC Expansion Concepts – Underlying Conditions & Medical Treatments

I’d like to suggest a DLC concept focused on unique host environments, specifically targeting individuals with pre-existing medical conditions or active treatments. This would add incredible strategic depth to the gameplay mechanics. Here are two core scenarios:

Immuno-compromised Hosts (e.g., Leukemia Patients): Instead of fighting a standard immune response, the main obstacle shifts to competing against other opportunistic pathogens for dominance over a weakened system.

Medicated / Vaccinated Hosts: The host receives active treatments or vaccines during the infection, significantly boosting their body’s response and forcing the player to adapt their transmission and mutation strategies in real time.

Integrating these mechanics would offer a fresh, highly engaging dynamic for players looking for deeper tactical challenges.

so

after you beat the heart you unlock a way to increase the difficulty, and it is essentially js the second scenario you provided

Certain treatments could trigger localized inflammation, organ shutdown, or medical interventions that completely seal off specific areas or pathways on the map.

#

Specific drugs (like broad-spectrum antibiotics or targeted antivirals) could actively strip away or neutralize key mutations and traits the player has already evolved.

#

Particular prescriptions could dramatically boost specific types of immune cells or specialized white blood cell variants, shifting the dominant threat the player has to face.

#

this is the idea of my second scenario

This is a very cool concept. Would make for a dope and unique DLCs ngl.

Vancomycin adds a probability of enemy bullets homing, cephalosporin adds a cytokine storm that engulfs the map, macrolide makes enemies tankier, tetracycline makes them faster, penicillin makes traps and harder enemies spawn in earlier levels, and carbapenem adds extra enemies in boss fights
