Could someone please tell me if the shirts were really free? My friend grabbed them while I held our spot near the front and she said they were, but idk if she's just being nice since I was the one to keep up with the RSVP stuff and making sure we had tickets and I drove there (well halfway and then she wanted to switch). But yeah bc if they did charge for the shirts I wanna make it up to her somehow

i washed and dried mine and didn't notice a lot of shrinkage but if you're worried wash the shirt on cold and air dry it!!

Guys I promise I'm not gonna try to reach out to him, just wanna vent. It just kinda sucksss because the one person I really want to tell about the concert is this guy I liked in school, I used to always hang out with him before school (both our parents were teachers where we went so we'd show up early) and play cards and I'd hang out with him a lot outside of school just listening to music like Green Day, Linkin Park, and AAR in his car. Buttt now he's married. I haven't ran into him at all since he's been with this girl, but I really kinda distanced myself from him before because he just kinda went off the rails a bit, but I think he's put-together now. But yeah, I don't want to take the chance of trying to talk to him, but this is exactly the sorta thing we'd bond like crazy over

I felt on two fronts I felt bad bc I’m 6’2 and it’s hard to see past but on the front I was very upset I was pushed from the front rope to towards the middle bc I got my ticket and all and waited in that line got let in then lost my spot just bc people were pushing past me then when I said something making me feel bad bc I’m tall , but I still enjoyed it and won’t let others ruin how great of an experience it was I just feel bad for everyone that had similar issues get pushed away or like you and that redhead girl had to go take a breather so you don’t have a medical situation on your hands and they lost their spot

Sorry some people in here had negative experiences with the crowd on Friday too. It was definitely a memorable experience, but not the crowd we’re used to at regular AAR show since it was a free event I assume.

i think this is kinda a nuanced thing tbh. i think it’s acceptable to get back where you were if part of your group is there, you just have to be polite about it. sometimes it’ll take a couple minutes, but i don’t think that’s a disrespectful thing to do. if someone’s shoving through and being a jerk and not saying anything that’s one thing, but like…. i’ve been at shows i waited 6+ hours for if i need to go pee i’m gonna go pee lol

when gizz played at smalls my friends were waiting in line for almost ten hours and were at the front and i had to go after i got off work so i was way further back but slowly and politely crept up to join em and generally it’s chill as long as you’re not being rude to other ppl or having your big group push thru

concert etiquette is tough. a lot of it is intention and execution imo. if someone’s being a jerk for the sake of it… gross. but we also don’t know how much experience a lot of people have w shows and it’s important to give the benefit of the doubt imo

esp since part of the point of the show was supporting our local scenes! yes!! aar was great! but so was eyewash! so was everyone who moved and grooved and even if they got a little rowdy (which i personally intervened in someone started throwing like a can of something and i straight up went No We Don’t Do That) the point is that people have to learn how to exist in these environments and post covid the pittsburgh scene especially took a massive hit so it’s important to give people the chance to learn

if someone is being a jerk absolutely say something or do something about it, but i tend to approach w kindness first and then escalate to What The Hell if they keep doing it
