#shotgun feels unsatisfying & inconsistent

a change to the shotgun's spread where a single pellet will always hit the center of your accuracy would make it feel way better & more consistent, even if most of the other pellets don't hit. i've had instances where i shot at enemies within 5 meters of me but none of the pellets hit, its not a big deal but it really does make the weapon feel unsatisfying at times

Early shotgun doesn't have that much power. Once you level it, it's best weapon in game. Even after overblast nerf

Not good idea to have it here. Else it would be quad rifle, but with pellets. But there's joker that shoot all pellets in middle

Single pellet can do up to 43 damage. You just need to learn little building

Please specify what games you are thinking of to better illustrate your feedback.

For instance, competitive shooters have fixed spread to reduce RNG that would create a disconnect from player aim skill. This game has different weapons for varying situations, enemies, and build or playstyle; Right tool, right job.

Customization in this game lets you build loadouts to various capacities and extremes. If you put all points and Jokers for maximum damage + absolute accuracy on one pellet = no need for precision weapons.

Deadlock as well

Any game where you need to hit a precise target but cant change load out on the fly, should have the single pellet in the center

red terrace
#

also, the first bullet of any weapon goes dead center, resetting after like 2 seconds

#

might be 1.5

Shotty still wouldn't be ideal at range but it could at least reliably stagger Deadeyes and do that one part of the Canyon secret quest

also, you could increase the pellet count and then reduce how much damage a single pellet does if you really need be

#

unless that messes up the numbers for stuff that affects pellets

Just have it reset on a no-shooting cooldown like spy's revolver in tf2

#

Perfect solution

#

I've already mentioned this in another posr

personally the shotgun only having like, 6 pellets feels weirdly low?

its a small change but its incredibly unsatisfying when you shoot at an enemy within 5 meters only for none of the pellets to hit & there is nothing you can do about it

aesthetically speaking i think the shotgun needs its sound effects and animations looked at as well

it feels like shooting a nerf gun

a single pellet would not make it like the quad rifle. IN ideal circumstances you could only ever get 1/6th of your damage guaranteed to hit. This would make practically no difference at very close range but it would make the weapon more consistent at hitting smaller targets or hitting targets at longer range. There are times where the you will miss a snake, bird or sniper just through plain bad luck. Obviously shotguns will always have an element of luck but having a single pellet be accurate is a good compromise between the RNG of spread and reliability.

#

It's frustating and unsatisfying when you are firing at enemies like birds (an enemy that should be ideal for the shotgun!) and the shots just completely miss through no fault of your own

stark zinc
#

but i like the quad cylinder that fires multiple shots at once instead of separately

needs a bit more kick to it

i wanna feel like i just blasted an enemy, not shot, blasted them

50 damage shots commonly land for me with the shotgun, feels pretty satisfying to me. Feels powerful while also being rapid fire

#

Also there is a joker where one pellet is guaranteed to have perfect accuracy

#

Granted it's only the first in the chamber but the shotgun can reload super fast

stark zinc
#

but relying on a joker for what should essentially just be part of a weapon in the first place doesn't feel good, a newer player might try out the shotgun, miss shots through no fault of their own & just consider it bad & not fun to use

#

& having to reload constantly just to hit a single pellet would get tedious very fast

#

yeah, imo it's not a very good joker anyway

The new nerf to overblast made this gun unsatisfying to use, even if you build full dmg and invest into accuracy it still feels bad, the dmg is good at point blank but anything further than that it feels bad to use. The dmg nerf devs did was right but the way they nerfed the gun is just bad, destroyed accuracy of the gun, reduced build variety. Its just better to play minigun less investment better result more satisfying gameplay experience. Devs just needed to nerf overblast dmg not the amount of pellets in my opinion and the gun would be still satisfying to use just with less dmg so it doesnt do insane dmg.

Love shotgun, use it religiously even after the nerf
It’s still amazing and still one of the best guns in the game. But the “perfect accuracy on first shot” joker is awful, especially for how many joker slots it takes up. I’d be down to see it get changed to something like “your pellet spread has +50% accuracy” or something (on every shot). I still wouldn’t use it, but at least it’d serve a purpose for the few people who take issue with the spread

stark zinc
#

but i think you should have different reasons for equipping jokers rather than just equipping it to fix/mitigate an inherent flaw of a weapon

I agree

stark zinc
#

maybe a joker that makes the shotgun significantly more accurate in return for an increase in ammo consumption (2 for example) per shot, so you're trading in a bit of your ammo for more consistency

like a pseudo slug shotgun
