if you look at the scaling, leveling defense is....
gear and lumina will always give you more health and defense than you could ever actually atain from stats the only problem with that strategy is that, you have to live long enough to get those Luminaa to those levels.

level health and defense until endgame then respec. or just. keep pumping. challenge runners are often shortsighted fools. select few I respect. and of those I do respect it is often for their patience and gumption rather than their strategies.

But primarily it’s new enemies, new superboss, and new loot.
