#Xenoblade Chronicles

Fair enough
things exist that will make the gameplay... a lot less "fighting against your grind"
the quick cool down feature isn't even from the original, but other things from chapter 3 help, qcd is just super nice
It should be noted I am fighting monsters that are almost exclusively yellow.
So essentially I’m doing things the old fashioned way.
meh, not a huge deal.Depending on class
Look I’m just saying
no, other things are important aswell
This is what brings me joy
The wall breaks first
To my understanding though, several of my complaints are about foundational systems, rather than the fact I’m lacking some forced work around.
An RNG check for heals outside of major cooldown abilities that are not baseline AOE is, in my opinion, a problem.
Last I checked in the only way to “fix” that is galaxy knight at nearly max rank and that’s still on a massive cooldown.
A lot of the annoyance can get eased with gear and stuff that lets you push yourself in various directions
My current gameplan is to rig together a deranged auto attack build that will hopefully keep me alive.
Fair enough
But a lot of that gear can be gotten through grinding yes? These manufacturers can be forcefully upgraded.
Anyways. I’ll try to reel in the complaints.
Also, once you can access online you could do the online specific missions to earn sp if you feel like maxing skills out a bit sooner.
Many manufacturers don't open up til you hit chapters, so most gear will be rng for ya and relatively meh for a while
Fair nuff
I always forget how much I like the way the affinity charts in xenoblade games change as you interact with folks
It's simple but it works?
Finally. It is done. All* of Primordium
Those last 2 locations require flight and the third requires the MSQ
Now back to killing crabs
Does everything moderately big just have…. Walls and walls of DR?
Yes but? Usually weak to certain stuff or different appendages have different resistances as well?
I dunno if you just have to face them or if you need to kill em for the info to pop up under Intel, but it'll tell you their general resistances
You can get to the areas on the top left
They count as Primordia, surprisingly.
IIRC they do anyway
I tried. There’s a green wall of doom.
Something about progressing the big red quest I’ve been avoiding
Progress the quest. Meet the asscaves
Nyeeeeeeeeeeh
I wanna hit level 20 first
Then I’ll go until I get the green pew pews
And then it’s a straight shot to 50
Have yet to find a cave of 60s or 70s though
So I’ll probably grind out the 50s until 60ish
And then I’ll be repeatedly farming elites at that point
there's at least one I know you can access atm, but is not quick to get to
Handy. I’ll try to remember to ask when I need that.
lol, one of my friends just send my this video to show me his build ||https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/585760687129886732/1357484901305421824/2025040317331801-12EA8C312204E38D2116311DF6E7E6BF.mp4?ex=67f10895&is=67efb715&hm=410243dbbf4506244da22588bd7b731bd3e31a6e0356253fedef3bf6ba55e5e5&||
knocks out a huge beastie in seconds
at first I was like "why is he sending me this?" as he does tiny bits... and then suddenly it just drops
yeebus
Xenoblade has always been one where I feel I could do crazy numbers if I focuses everything on a buildz but usually I'm just slowly boosting a specific set of stuff and hoping I find gear that matches while hoping i can survive just a bit longer with the treasure booster gear
I just kind of use what works, it's not really like me to min/max at all
I think the only game I ever cared was EVE: Online
The initial grind to 20 for the giga weapons is now done! Finally. I can do the first quest of chapter 3.
And then after dealing with that and getting the green bar I’m off to the grind for Blood Carnival.
Chap 3 ||”I knew we would have heard from them by now” ma’am we’ve been galavanting across the entirety of primordia as murder hobos for the past 3 weeks in game time. They’re long dead.||
I love how I have no idea who’s talking because I have everyone wearing identical gear.
||”fighting is a last resort” uhhhhhhhhhhh….. have you seen what I’ve done to the local crab, bug, and beetle populations? fighting is my first resort. we’re being ordered to stand down by a openly hostile force. I ain’t gonna die via firing squad. I’m going it my way, by taking as many people with me as possible.||
||oh look. they were hostile. now im gonna do what I wanted to from the start and you can reflect on your actions ms “violence is a last resort”||
Oh hey NOW I get the green bar
UNFUNNY vEGTABLE
I wanna kill it
Unlike prior interactions with vegetables this one just upsets me
No charm
I’m stabbing him and stealing his orb.
The longer he talks the more I dislike him.
Oh well
||”nopon are pacifists” looks at Tora and Poppy completely obliterating all life around them tater tot, bud, I think you’re just extra useless.||
Oh. Neat. I now get to actually explore the world
Huh
If you want there is an option under settings to always make a character's head visible. Instead I equip random hardware that keeps the face visible
Well time to hit level 99
Oh no I’ve seen it. I prefer helmets.
As things prove time and time again. There are good ways to do children. And there are bad ways.
Tatsu is a potato that grates on my existence.
Nopon voices already typically did that but his personality pushes it over the edge
Anywho yay freedom off to become god
I also heavily dislike tatsu
I merely found it amusing
I'm in the middle with tatsu. The food jokes kinda get grating but otherwise he tends to have some Very Funny moments. It's just usually not when he has speaking lines
btw i am... so desperatley in need of moneh and seeling old junk is so tedious
Find the highest level elite you can kill and sell all its loot on kill
Ngl, thought your switch was weird for a moment with a control stick inside/on the screen
Smacks my robot: This is Cadence my favorite Joystick
I love the alien desgins in this game
Esp the || Orphe||
Why is rhe online mode so awful
? what's awful about it?
I’ve never touched online so I dunno what you mean
I know sometimes(a bit rare for me) it'll randomly disconnect and It'll dc if you go into the switch menu stuff at all, but otherwise I've had no big issues. Usually I just have it on to passively earn reward tickets that I sometimes help with or try to join folks for the raid boss stuff if folks recruit for it.
It almost always randomlu disconnext
Within 10 mins
Its not my wifi bexause ive tried multiple wifis
Weird, sometimes I have that issue if I happen to be connecting to a squad with a lot of japanese folks, but usually it's still not that bad
Lvl 80 monkey desd
Coloring new skells always makes me feel like someone's car loving dad
Vandamns new voice is shit
Nothing confirmed but speculation is that the og voice actor will only do union work and that may have been a factor?
As it is, new va does feel like their own character by the end of the game, but definitely doesn't feel as good or even similar
Badass
HE CAN LIKE TWO SHOT A LVL 87 MECH
yowch
I love him so much. This is my Boy
How so?
looks at every other xenoblade game killing off vandam oh you know. reasons.
Xenoblade one's waa fine
yeah but he was actually named Vangarre
so
doesnt count
In japan he was vandam
When one Vandam dies on you and you start to be suspicious of the others
And then when a second dies.
And a third/fourth nearly die……..
Look, the party needs a mentor figure that dies tragically. It's a hard requirement for proper character growths.
Thus, I should be worried about the man’s safety.
If you can find him not having a meal at any time of day, he might need to worry about safety
Does “in cutscenes yelling at me” count?
If he's not being stabbed, I say no
Hmmmm
Yelling at you is a meal for him. He gains sustenance from the act of yelling at idiot children. :P
he dosent yell that much does he?
I just had rhe most dogshit experience fighting a tyrant
That's a fun, though zenith cannon is also pretty great.
Sorry to hear
I week or so ago I realized how long it's been since I played original XCX
should I not switch into upper tier classes at all?
I'm struggling with my sniper, was really excited to try it
she hits super hard... but has two skills and just can't really keep up against things at her level or slightly higher
if I switch back to one of the base 3 classes, all is fine
I feel like I've forgotten something about how the game works
if I use one of the normal branches that stick with the same weapons as the base class, things seem to be fine, since abilities are weapon-based?
Stat scaling changes between classes and upper tiers aren’t always 100% net gain
Certain ones lose out on a wider assortment of stats to focus harder on damage
Which isn’t always good
yeah, the base sniper (I forget the class name) levels excrutiatingly slow under level 20 character level
(I still haven't unlocked my skell... I play too many games...)
still in chapter 5
or at the ned of 4?
I forget
I don't have overboost/charge or whatever
Welcome to my Christmas gift to the Xeno community - a massive Unreal Engine 5 project where I compare the scale and size of the various enemies, characters, machines from the Xeno series worlds: Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade Chronicles.
Using lore, measurement data, and Xeno-series theory, I built scaled environments in UE5 to visualize h...
yeah Xenoblade gets. big.
“You see that mountain? You can’t climb it like BotW Link could, but there will be a pathway up it that you’ll eventually walk along.”
"oh also the mountain is covered in monkies that are higher level than the final boss and theres one idiot with more than 100 levels at the top have funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn"
