also SysDef still hates me, but I can land on UC planets. logic.
honestly, I probably just need to build my own ship.
buuut given NG+ I dont want to.
so.... Ill do nothin instead.
and just complain.
solid solution.
rectifying former statement: 1V8 space combat sucks.
normal space combat is perfectly fine.
Mantis ||why..... hwy isn't the armor scaled..... I just..... why is this armor so garbage. it looks so cool. I want to use it..... why does it have to suck.....||
Anyone want to riddle me how the heck I actually make tranquilitea?
I've done everything
And I can't in the galley nor pharma station
Yeeeeeah. It’s hot garbage. Even at a low level, debatably, it’s bad due to how much it weighs. Each piece is what, like 15 pounds?
Or is 'used as a crafting material' completely skipping that step for something unrelated?
SWEET CHRIST.
Oh, there are food magazines
this armor is GARBAGE
you get to be put into the forever box on the mantis ship mantis armor.
times like these, I wish, there was a cosmetic slot.
I’ve only found 1 food magazine in all my time playing so far
sheperds pie?
Even with a cosmetic slot, the armor is ugly. It could have looked way cooler, but even though this is sci fi, they made most armor function over form
If only the game gave you a cosmetic option for all the equipments in the game and just unlocked the skin when you receive an item, allowing you to put it on any item of that type
But no they didn't implement cosmetics at all
....... what do you mean. the armor looks awesome.
We have different aesthetic tastes then
I guess so.
Storm trooper armour
They implemented it just enough to charge people extra on the premium edition
You get a skin for the cutter and equinox. That’s it
annnnnd 1 armor, 1 backpack, 1 helmet.
THATS IT
can't wait for modding to actually do something interesting with that slot
ya know, like letting us unlock and use it.
Can’t wait for the anime waifu gun skins you mean
look, Im just saying, if thats what ends up happening, I wont say no to having hot waifus helping me gun down civilization one person at a time.
There’s a gun in the well that has a sick corrosive skin, but it’s a T1 rifle, so it only does 3 damage
Ah yes, the Crimson fleet, introduced to the player as 'credits over all else'
Thats why I get a faction bounty on me for taking a quest that generated with one of them as my target for a bounty, even though I'm supposedly friendly with the faction.
Exactly the same how I can't kill someone who I'm at odds with in their base because they 'belong to the faction', ignoring all their words about other BS
Exactly the same issue as skyrim, every single rule, if it gets broken, assumes the player did it
Anyone else can do anything, but if the player does it, all lore and logic go out the window
Walters little building questline amuses me though, not a bad ship to gain for basically free?
I love how I'm more actively happy about the 65 aluminium they put in the ships cargo than the actual ship though
yup. good ol bethesda logic.
I personally, just ignore it. dont take contracts against factions you are a part of, unless you want to wipe that faction off the face of the universe.
Strangely it seems like they actually bothered to clear the bounty when I killed both ships in the system
Either that or I can't clear a crimson fleet bounty at the bounty clearance
so I mean, bounty not being cleared after killing all witnesses KINDA makes sense in this game.
from a point of view.
but yeah good luck
or just reload a save
No I mean, apparently while it showed the bounty thing, it might have only been due to the second ship in the area, I don't think they turned hostile?
So where it would make sense, they apparently didn't do that
And now Jaz is just a confuse
Screw it I'll go back to the key and see
Huh yeah, not hostile
It might entirely be the fact there was two ships in the system, so it decided I gained a bounty but actually bothered to clear it
I just found it weird personally that a faction that literally shows someone kill, over a disagreement of a few thousand credits, would put a bounty on you for doing just that
oi. that was 12K credits.
not a few thousand
few means 3-5
Chump change
I didn't say it wasn't a pittance.
Im just saying its not a few
also considering that the reward for siding with the CF is 250K credits, and thats supposed to be a massive score that lets the captains that earned their share become monsters on the battlefield.... well I think 12K credits is quite a lot for the average CFer
Anyway time to waste a stupid amount of time shipbuilding when I plan to speedrun NG+ in a few hours or so
I really wish, that we could save ship blueprints.
so that when we DO NG+, we can just get the money we need, and then print out the ship again.
You never really realise how many ship components make up your ship till you disassemble the whole thing
god damn
dammit bethesda
why can't you just put vendor chests way lower under ground
very egregiously easy to discover vendor chests have been found in akila city
which is showcased in the latest camleworks video
@mild bridge storage capacity is fun
yes it is.
thats what I wanted. but NOPE. NO CAN DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
good news, some kind modder will fix it.
for now, I just ignore them.
I don't even recognise it at this point
You turned the Frontire into a humpback caterpillar
Now to work out if the last hour of me shipbuilding, has any of the actual interior modules linked up
Because they sometimes choose some of their connection directions can't be accessed
Yup, those close front three rooms you can see, like center screen stacked on top of each other?
Those are companion ways, intended to be blank rooms for 'connect to any direction'
None of them are connected to any part of the ship
Say hello to 'why did I even bother' the room
…… fun
the game, when it 'generates' connections between rooms, doesn't seem to understand 'connect all of them'

Really wish you could force door locations
@thin pilot I'm here to ruin the game for you
The FOV when sprinting, only changes if you have a weapon out, without a weapon out, the FOV doesn't do that 'pull back' effect thing
And for anyone else who reads this, your welcome, you shall now no longer unsee that
Oh yeah i noticed that
@mild bridge complaining more about the powers
||The precognition one, meant to tell you what the person is likely to answer, doesn't even give the correct variation of dialogue that your crew will say if theres more than one way they could say the option||
||love that.||
Wait.
What date did the game release?
6th sept
Right, then early access
Wow...
I really didn't post it
And now I can't even check
Do I really have to try and go back like, 3 realtime weeks, to try and find a single interaction?
The game doesn't even keep those types of saves
I think I had a super rare interaction
And it happened within the first few days of playing
oh?
||I think I met the hunter in the main city just as a wandering NPC, talked about being alone and a whole range of things. I'm almost 100% sure I talked with someone who was 'The X' of some kind, I only spoke to them because their name wasn't 'civilian'||
And that was like, within the first few quests
I swear I posted an image of the guy here commenting on it but I apparently didn't
I swear I had a casual chat with him though back when I was like below level 10
No but like, thats the hunter right?
And I casually met them at L3 or something in the starter city
Like, first main quest level of new
I don't recall the name exactly but I know it was two words, it was a title not just 'Hunter'
They had black armour and you could comment on it and a few things
Philosophy discussion
On what it means to be great and achieve great things and if it's fate or free will
Yeah I'm like 80% sure mine was about being alone or something
both are thematic
Anyway for any murder hobos out there at the end of the story
||Both of the star people are immortal but non interactable, couldn't pickpocket them, they couldn't die, the ship was immortal and reboarding after just makes them hostile if you attacked||
||this is bullshit. I demand murder.||
Wait a minute
what are you considering
Chlorine is a halogen and is typically found in nature in its ionic form, usually as chloride (Cl-), in its elemental form, chlorine (Cl2) is a yellow-green gas at room temperature and standard pressure. It's highly reactive, especially with substances like organic matter, and would not remain in elemental form for extended periods if exposed to other substances. The Earth's crust contains only about 0.017% chlorine by weight, which is far less abundant than oxygen and hydrogen, the components of water.
The notion of a lake or ocean made entirely of liquid chlorine is implausible under Earth-like conditions.
If I'm recalling and grabbing information correctly
o.... okay?
You asked
Chlorine is too 'volatile' to turn into 'oceans of chlorine' but the game says earth is made up of it
That all the water was replaced by it
Even
thats..... absurd.
the more I play this game, the more I think they just threw things together and hoped it was right.
Even if it was 50 degrees colder than the temp on our planet, chlorine would still be a gas
And SiH3Cl would itself be reactive with chlorine potentially
Which is the other blue thing there material/resource wise
Lol
I go on a rant about chlorine
The game crashes
"I've had enough of jazzes BS"
it heard you
But seriously, chlorine boils at minus 35c approx and the earth they let you land on averages minus 1C
To solidify, which I assume they are trying to pretend is a thing, would be temps below minus 100C
except when harvested its stored as a gas
I re-designed my monster
This games 0 gravity zones, especially near the end quests annoy me
Did you know, zero gravity areas are player oriented. This means objects outside of them are still treated as if they are in zero gravity if the player is
Rather than have actual zero gravity areas, its just triggers to turn off universal gravity
hahahah of course it works that way.
Do you know how much more work and time and money would have to be spent to code gravity zones?
"Next gen"
For implementation though, I'm pretty sure its literally just a case of detecting if an object is within a predefined cube hitbox
Gravity already is a varable that can be altered, as shown literally by the different planet gravities
And they obviously zoned out the zero gravity areas based on all the other instances of them
yeah I got a question
wehre the hell are zero G areas
because Ive wanted to level the parkour power
and that requires kills in zero g
which seemingly DOESNT EXIST
Bug fixed. Just deleted it and changed it to the A variant
I'm on like 'final plotline reveal dialogue log reading walking simulator' and I've yet to actually fight in zero g, so I'm with you in that unless it literally means the powers usage or something weird
"There's three major locations for Zero G kills. The Almagest in Olympus, Deimos Armoured Transport in Alpha Centauri and finally, Deserted Trade Authority Star Station in Valo." - reddit
whever the hell those are
probably an achievement related to killing enough enemies in zero g
I was given the choice, between one or the other
Jaz always chooses VIOLENCE
Well I guess, it is time for them to realise what it means to take on a Jaz
Yup, they just randomly decided Vlad is dead inside
The power has never worked on Vlad
vlad is a robot confirmed
Ok this whole game has managed to bring me back slightly on liking it
||I was just blitzing through grabbing the final artifacts, just deciding to start skipping looting and everything, just hit and run grab the key item, then hit NG+||
||I really didn't expect the shifting timeline right at the very end||
Its cooool
I was writing off the game and they managed to do something interesting as the final stretch, I'll give them that one
||i would've preferred time travel, keep it a closed loop but i still really like it||
it gets more interesting in NG+
and the convos you can have with characters
The game really didn't plan for me to have a cluster grenade shotgun and life sense
XD
Literal rambo
or did it!
interesting.
Good to know the residents find all of this normal
Dude is literally sat on it
Apex hunter my ass XD
I just noticed your character does a little animation when you grav jump
I've spent most of this game in 3rd person when flying my ship
so I only saw it just now
I have almost exclusively played in first person tbh
Anyway thanks game for giving me a legendary set of gear as my very final mission before I have all my equipment wiped
Much appreciated
I'm definitely going to get milage out of assisted carry to drain 75% less O2 while running encumbered as I do the final missions
:/
Absolutely no one in the real world should be trusted with the power of the stars from this game tbh. The moment you know you are going NG+ nothing stops you saying "I have a few more kills on this milestone I need to achieve, hey look a populated area"
Gur is already a few steps ahead on that though
i play in third person all the time
yoooo I just found a free cam mode in 3rd person while flying the ship
I held down the select button and while it's still attached to the ship, I can move it all around and look at everything
I... Have no words...
I'm literally in the finale, people will know the specific scene, and somehow, finally Vlad is alive.
Ever since I got given the power I've just been spamming it on cooldown almost, and its wild the stupid things they try to get away with
I NOW KNOW HOW MY WEAPON FEELS, IT BURNS
||There was like 8 of them, firing what equates to hornets nest, chain shotguns, constantly||
you gave him life!
@thin pilot I broke the credits
Apparently they didn't plan for someone to actually get to the bottom, so I now have a black screen
They never actually set the credits scroll to end naturally
seeing as you reached the ending
does it force you to go into new game + or can you chose to do it later and keep doing other stuff
||As long as you don't have the armarillo thing completely filled, the game will just keep the quest in your log. But for instance if you complete it on your ship like I did, the next grav jump will end the game. I do not know what refusing unity does however.||
||So theres a chance even after you grav jump or whatever the outpost version is, that you can kickstart it later on after doing that.|| But yes, you do get warned a few times on the matter
finally an answer!
7 minutes after you posted must have been such a long wait \s
Yup thats the joke
i dont even have a way to count how long ive been waiting
im immune to spoilers and if i feel like someone is "trying" to help me by not spoiling things for me they get eviscerated for the crimes
Is that you indirectly trying to tell me off for providing the information on reuqest, barely like, 90 minutes or so after I got an answer myself?
no its more me telling everyone else off for who thinks of attempting withhold things
thats why i put stuff in spoilers
i have it set so that spoilers un spoil for me so i dont have to click on them to read
if you want the info, you click at your own risk and can't be mad if you see it
i did not know that was an option
i think this one is completely mis understanding everything ive been sayiing
i want people to tell me things
i dont get angry cause i dont care about spoilers
i want to know everything
yeah i am the opposite. i prefer not to be spoiled unless i directly ask
its why i seriously dont care ill look at every trailer to learn as much as possible about the game
I tend to only have spoilers disabled on servers I admin for tbh. Otherwise I like to value the few things I have yet to learn myself
well that and that one time when it was a bunch of people in a seperate discussion thing and it was just full of spoiler tags and i had enough of clicking on them all un spoilering them
That it can be. I recommend the solution known as overwhelming firepower.
I regret that shotgun
Yeah I have a particle shotgun for when no other weapon is working
I don’t use it often cause it can damage my follower
More because of that one final enemy after the mine elevator in the final quest stuff
I think I'll use handguns only this time around
im mostly carrying all the guns i like to use
ive only put a few im saving up on ammo in my box cause i had barely any ammo for them
perks of having maxed out weight limit
At least people won’t have a hard time trying 1 HP runs
that was hilarious to me when i realized i could get away so hard with being overweight
i dont go to the point of low health i just controlled my stamina
but i got weight max level now
so I finished the mantis quest, and decided to fly around with || the ship and armor || for a while, and I learned || The random ship encounters can change when you are the mantis ||
My favourite thing was when I went to live with the crimson fleet and had always kept it equipped. I almost wish there was an inherent 'forced faction bias' for wearing a full suit of some types
i honestly did put 1 point into food gives me more health just so it was actually getting useful to eat it all gone
like most bethesda games, food just gets ignored cause they're afraid of making it actually powerful
kinda depends ive yet to go all the way into the food eating perk and havent really looked at others using it so i have no idea of the result of maxed out food eating perk
yeah, I was planning on investing in it
just to see what all the recipes were
I'm probably going to google to see if there are any common spawns for the food magazines
I'm fine with the incremental upgrades of all the others, but the food magazines actually give recipes
you misunderstand
im not talking about the recipe food perk
im talking about the eating food perk gives you more healing perk!
oh, i see
I don't want to have to invest precious perk points into a perk that just increases food's healing capability
if its infinite levels there not really precious points
it's theoretically infinite levels
but do you know how vicisouly they scale xp for later levels in bethesda games?
@mild bridge You're real high level, let us know, how's your xp count until your next level?
still doesnt make them precious in my eyes at least i finally got to master level lock breaking
For the sake of it, to level from 395 to 396 it takes 138501xp
Also, I'm happy with the kiddie stuff perk. Even if I had to console it in for NG+ since I planned to do perkless and then have: dream home, kiddie stuff & adoring fan from NG+ onwards
Dream home is a lot less valuable to me overall, but kiddie stuff seems 100% worth it
Since this is a ||food recipe|| you get from the kiddie stuff perk
Its that last effect I think a lot of people might value
Theres a handful of things that provide it I've found, but some of them ask for weird things
they fixed the accessible vendor chests
How y’all been doing in starfield
Fine
Have you ||looooooooooooooooooped|| yet?
Nah
My mouse is kinda dying
Not really able to pc right now
Which is really getting on my nerves
This is why I have a spare mouse and headset so I never get impacted by problems like that
I have a spare somewhere. Think it's in my laptop bag. Otherwise I think my old mouse is in the cable tote
I had issues with it in the past, completely disrupting streaming or D&D, so I when I bought replacements one time, I bought double to save me the effort. Bonus points that the headset was on sale for like 40% off
I have space mice, just not spare mmo mice.
And I bind a lot of buttons to the mmo section
i have a wired mouse, but 100% gonna get a removable wire mouse next
do you have the mouse that has a whole mini keyboard mounted to the top of it?
Nope. Sounds fun. Only got a numpad.
MY MOUSE IS WIRED
How old is it?
mine is like 2 years old
5 years with our usage of computers? makes sense for it to start dying
I'm getting the wireless version after this one dies
I guess
it's a logitech G502 Hero
I only found out it had a wireless version when I asked a streamer I enjoy what his mouse was
I also want a wireless gaming keyboard
I depsise wires
and I don't play in any super competitive circles where a quarter of a milisecond of faster response time gets me a win
so I really don't need wired stuff
the poor FF clickes
yeah, I bet it was the wall of cargo containers that did it in
Running a Steel Series Rival 3 myself. Actually all my pc accessories are SS right now
I kinda have lorge hands (palms) so finding the right mouse is hard sometimes. So I stick with logitech cause those work well for me
Sadly think the battery in my MX ergo is going
need to look up to see if I can replace it
hell yea just a drop in replacment
you know that doesnt happen with clicking right?
thats just hitting E
a lot.
now see that, thats what did it in.
so much clicking
hell I got an RSI once from FF14 grinding
painful times
No, I didn’t know that. I play with a controller, so I didn’t know what button you press for it.
Huh
Yeah.
Now LINKING all the containers
That might do it
Linking requires right click, and you can’t mass do it
For some ungodly reason
yeh how dare they keep assuming we are keyboard users

@thin pilot correction: that mouse apparently lasted a year….. god it felt so much longer.
Time to find something new
Good news: the replacement is arriving tomorrow morning
Yey

@thin pilot
I see we’ve exited the honeymoon phase of Starfield
It feels a bit too mean, but its still a good game
I love playing it and feeling like a spacer
The honeymoon phase ended after the first crash and first NPC chest was found.
I really feel like NPC chests are massively blown out of proportion
They are. The issue isn't the fact that people keep finding them though. It's the fact that it's been an issue with the past Bethesda games for a long time now and they still fail to hide them well or just not have them
It's not the chest that the issue. It's the implications of the tech they use that their newest game is running on really old broken code
It’s lazy.
That’s my issue
Then Todd Howard says the game is "pushing the limits and gamers need to upgrade their PCs"
It would have taken 5 more seconds to lower them
That was a dick move
Ew
To what Todd? Is my 3060 not good enough? Do I need a 4080?
Its getting there
Todd.
It’s really not
I'd say the 1080 is just at the end of its lifespan and you've put it through hell and back
genuinely i think it just needs a 3070/80
1080 might be a bit of an older card but those things were beasts
I can't commit on that one despite having a 3070, my CPU is under the minimum specs so my experience was impacted by that
I met the reccomended requirements and ran the game at a constant 45fps on medium settings. I am kinda mad at that
It was a monster, and still runs things perfectly fine. But big America thinks it’s getting too old which pissed me off.
I can run cyberpunk on high with next to no lag. Ya know. The pc melter game.
This game is still such a joy for me to play, no other game comes close to replicating the experience it has
The issue isn't the age of the card but the industries over reliance on new tech and lack of proper optimization.
Yeah.
i can commit to it granted mine is a RTX over the one (i forgot the name of the other one just now)
Make the game run better? Nah slap some DLSS in there and call it good
It’s a fun game. I very much like. If only that leveling curve was less god damned toxic.
If people do know other Firefly-Esque games, ping me because i am dying to play some more
Oh wait, starfield skipped DLSS for it's launch for the less popular cousin FSR that works better the minority of cards
But nothing else really scratches that Firefly/Han Solo/Ringworld itch
That part i don't blame them for, that was clearly a marketing decision done without the knowledge/input of the dev team
so personally i can't find enough reason to be mad at the game, rather i'm mad at the company
to do like the whole the ship is my home over the your in a starfighter from No mans sky
Well yeah. The only time to ever be mad with a game is when RNG falls out of favor. Every bad thing in a game is a decision from the company. Starfield isn't running poorly because it wants to. It's running poorly because Bethesda didn't want to delay it any further or manage the game better
Mad with the game developers* sorry
wasn't clear enough
because my gut says they weren't consulted for the partnership with AMD
Like, for this game i can't get that mad at the game devs. They're working with what they got. were they lazy? yeah and it shows and drags the game down quite a bit. were they bad? i don't think so. But the marketing/mangement team? those guys need to be fired. the marketing on this game was a mess, nothing was explained and defined, the decisions for the gameplay loops don't make sense, its just a mess of upper-management stuff
and it fucking sucks
Instead of it being a good, fun game. it could have been an excellent game with as little as another year of development
No damned idea.
Nah marketing did great. They made the game look better and helped generate sales.
i will say after this i genuinely want to redownload and continue with no mans sky
Marketing FAQ people i mean
like its literally rebirthing this itch for me
sorry, really tired and can't explain well
Like they didn't clarify the space stuff at ALL
Yeah the game did really make me wanna replay NMS. Which really speaks to how little I was liking it.
Yeah that's the point? Why would they have said "Space? Ahj yeah that's just loads of loading"
At least with Starfield you had a plot/mystery to go to. NMS's just feels... bad? but that may because i've played through it so many times
thats fair
and a good point, not advertising its flaws
I will say though, i am sick of proc-generated worlds/universes
for space games specifically
thats the thing though Weegy in space most dont want direction we just want to roam
Starfield was okay because it had a few recongizable locations you could navigate around
NMS just, finding a cool planet doesn't feel satisfying to me because i'm going to warp away and never visit it again
Least I found cool planets there
Yeah
my issue is that you're actively encouraged to move onto the next world, and onto the next. i like the exploration but it feels inconsequential to explore which to me at least, wasn't appealing
I wish there were more vertical planets
aw that would be cool
Not nearly enough mountany planets
Like massive trenches
now that is something Astroneer would give you
Yeah
trenches
True
I feel like thats an issue with the engine of NMS
to fall straight into like a dumb dumb
But no combat

It’s an issue with most engines. Vertical render distance.
Rendering things on a flat plane, not too hard.
Add massive hills cliffs and LOS blockers
There’s problems
I started the game out thinking, "okay the gameplay is better than I was expecting. Kinda excited for it to open up now" Then 30 hours went buy and I realized that was it. The game didn't have anything else to show me. I checked out some gameplay of the later powers and saw no reason to continue playing
yeah the powers are underwhelming
And apparently half broken
I don't think so, their just so underwhelming people think their broken
i was mostly disappointed when i saw the form powers hoping they were some drastic change thing but its just nah invisible or stone man
which is a bigger issue
then them being broken
cause you can fix broken powers easily
I had the same issue with the dragon shouts in skyrim. Fus was decent but they were all underwhelming
but if your whole powers are bad, you can't fix that with balance/bug fixes. that requires a whole big rework
and from my experience with them, thats the conclusion i've come too
rather then just broken/bugged
its possible
but i don't see bethesda doing it
Yup
Bethesda doesnt fix things. They let modders fix the same bugs that have been in the last 3 games
despite it being so-so
Just now…. Not so much
That's one of the reasons mods come out so quickly.
the fact that it offers that experience of firefly, makes me confident it'll take off
“The fans will fix it anyways so we don’t care”
either in homebrew/modded games like how skyrim had TWO separate games modded in it then made into their own game
Now I just need a spaceship with a dragon animation
or just simple additions/mods
Initial excitement followed by disappointment when you realize that's it?

what kind of dragon animation
The song reference kind.
I had low hopes for the game. It picked them up and dug a bigger hole to drop them in
so the wyvern kind
I've been wanting a game that scratches this itch for the better part of a decade, and finding games that only do 30-50% of what i wanted out of a game. while this offers a good 80% of what i wanted to do
Did it live up to my expectations once i got 50 hours in? no, not really
Did it fail them? not really either
I'm just content that it exists, a flawed experience is better then no experience
That is true
Would rather it have not been a $70 experience. I could have thrown that money away in lottery tickets
Like, this is my childhood dream. being able to fully build and explore my own ship while exploring a galaxy and uncovering a mystery
Cool
For most people, yeah its not worth it
But i'd say for the 150 i paid up? i'm content with it
My issue is, I can't fully explore the ship. And for myseterys to work you have to care about the mystery
My dream game is cubeworld done right.
But this has gotten off track, its a flawed game majorly
Somewhat
apologies for veering off and making it my perspective
Like I feel bad shitting on the game, but I paid for it and shitting on it has been more fun so this is how I'm getting my moneys worth
Yeah but i feel rude
Just don’t get blinded by it.
And pushy, so sorry about
You weren’t this time.
that*
and hey, at least its not starbase
If anything I would be the rude one here? I'm taking the thing you love and treating it like the old dude treated the bathroom floor as mentioned in #minionbot-lounge
Nah you aren't
Nah
Its valid complaints
Okay fine. Game is stupid ugly and has optional pronous pushing the woke agenda to turn the frogs gay
Hugs for all
Godvdamnit mini!

Now that was stupid. like i didn't even notice the pronouns option
Someone blue pill him again!
I legitimately for 30+ hours of gametime, people were making that up to be mad at
Because it was such a tiny option i just... didn't see
What i think we can all agree on though is the prospects of the future, specifically future space games
I should be able to rework my play style once I truly figure it out
Like all the devs sharing mini's view and going "fine i'll make it myself"
Or collect more than 3 traits
Probably
and the fact it proves that a space game can be finished(cough elite dangerous, cough star citizen, cough, starbase, cough, space engineers)
That's a depressing finished but I get what you're saying
It is, and it sucks
Like imagine if another studio released it as finished.
There's be a lot more critism over the games current state
But it's what peopel expect from Bethesda
from a story perspective its conclusive, which is nice in the day and age of Live-service bullshit
are you though? you have also played the game

It's been a long time since a game story has met my standards. I don't feel like they're that high but I guess they must be since Nier Automata has been the only one in years to do it. Most of them fall flat for me
last game that really impressed me, funnily enough was star wars:Skywalker Saga
But that feels like cheating
Since its a lego game
I love fallout 76 to death but I realized that I can’t play it due to FOMO. The constant seasons just stress me out. So I agree on this point about starfield being at least conclusive
the cheat code of video games
crap i need to remember what the last major game i played was now
And i@haven’t really formed an opinion yet good or bad
The Witcher 3 is still one of my all time favorites
my opinion is not bad but No mans Sky is my itch
I love how side quests are handled in that game
Geralt isn’t for everyone
and i played all 3 games back-to-back
starfield is definitely the go to if you in for space story and No mans sky is if your in for exploration and wandering about etc
That was your first mistake
oh god yes
Thankfully they’re remaking the first two
I started Witcher 1 and decided I would rather hope for a remaster. That gameplay was not working for me
Just wait for the remake
The gameplay is just... Stabbing yourself
i got till nearly the end of witcher 2 but got lost in the big city area
like literally i was looking at the map and had no idea how the hell to get to where i needed to go
i didnt even properly know where i was
I actually did not even make it out of the forest area in Witcher 2
False. I've done that multiple times. I only tried the Witcher 1 twice
That's a shame, witcher 2 is probably the best
A) we care for you please don't do that B) twice was too many
Witcher 2 combat is in a weird transition state. It’s not quite the same as Witcher 1, but it hasn’t reached Witcher 3 yet
Story wise it was great because it had a similar quality to w3(if a bit worse) but it was much, much more focused
I actually got through a good portion of Witcher 1
my only thing against witcher 3 for me was when i was staring at trees that were far away thinking "man the wind must be hella strong with how much those trees are swaying"
Y'all were shttalkin without me?
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......
yes
To completely force the whole conversation back on that track for 5 minutes just to sht on @thin pilot favourite thing
My issues with the game; honestly are only very few.
My issues are the fact the company hired people who didn't have a preschool level of knowledge in science and astrology.
And my issues are the fact that some prick was made to be the 'face' of the thing, while directly antagonising gamers
Functionally, while I've complained powers don't work half the time, in many cases its 'understandable' even if stupid, that scripted events or specific NPCs who you never 'see' in combat, would ever need to qualify for those things. Same goes for a variety of issues.
They could have done more, been less lazy, sure. But I could say the same thing every time I sit down to write one of my 20 different projects, be it programming, writing/stories, worldbuilding.
My issues that I would punch todd over, other than him being himself, is pretty much just that they could have paid someone with a basic high school pass, to get the core 'space' facts right, flags bleaching hundreds of years later and any number of stupid details.
Beyond that, eh, its about the 'sub standard' I would expect from most games in general.
So my entire issue stems from the clear fact that no one really cared about that entire aspect of the game, and the company behind it all who cared more about the 'face' of their big boss, than doing something good
Todd didn’t use to be at such odds with the fans, I don’t think.
But yeah it’s not great
I've said it kind of directly to weegy, and this is something people don't always get to know about me
My issue is this $60 game crashes constantly. It crashes more than grounded did on my Xbox one
I’m playing on an Xbox S now and it’s crashing so much
Like every hour
It wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t forcibly ejected constantly
I can play a mediocre game for hours if I can get into the rhythm

Well that solves that part of me not caring about the game I guess.
It just happens to fall into 'space' as a genre and I just really don't care usually about the genre
I as a person, 'hate' space, it doesn't interest me in stories, neither does guns. In almost every story and situation, ones that focus on 'higher advanced tech' people can pull whatever they want out their ass and 'suddenly solve everything'
I hate that space games basically get a free pass on things, I hate that 'gun' games make bullet sponges and the like because they can't do 'difficulty' any other way.
Guns in a story, especially written become entirely a case of either 'one shot and the persons dead', or 'numerous scenes of supposed combat tactics in an environment the reader can't see to sound cool'
Space games aren't my thing for a variety of reasons, I don't like the over emphasis people have on exploring space over exploring the sea and the egos people try to attach to it, 'first to the moon', not exactly a challenge when you are the only one trying. Like to forget that the russians only cared about the 'to space' part and had a massive internal problem collapsing their program.
Space games, while I can admit they are fun, and I did enjoy playing starfield and I like playing astroneer and space engineers and a whole variety of things. They aren't an experience I seek out, I don't relate, one of the things I just can't understand
For that same reason though, it is why No man sky is about the same rating as astroneer, and the same rating as Starfield for me. It isn't like I'm rating them 'low' for what they are, I just don't mesh well with the games, especially when the part I care about, the details, the accuracy on the bits that would have taken a few seconds to look up in google, are the issue.
And yes, for one of the few times people can call me out, because I love modular designing, so the weapons upgrade system is always something I have fun with if its done properly. Even though for a story focus I dislike guns
is that not what it was priced at?
My dad bought the premium edition so I assumed it was $60 at the least
If its priced at £60 for me, that would make it like $80 american at least
The premium upgrade is £30 and the 'full premium and base' is £86
Which would be like, $40 and $100?
60 and 100
I've not kept an eye on conversion rates in a while
Starfield base is $70
god damn
$30 extra for a couple skins and the art book
wow
that's a new level of horse armor
and for aussies its basically $120 as i relook at the steam
Horse armour? Funny you should say that
And the dlc cobra
Wasn't there a thing happening for some game soon that did have horse armour?
Discord
what's the dlc
There was cyberpunk that gave you a special weapon skin if you bought two gift subs on twitch
And their profile banner things
how much content does it add
Shattered space, just prebuying that
The headset thing I have which was one of the 'free' ones
Discord did a horse armour on basic cosmetics, and even made their nitro 'premium' cost less
Decorations discord calls them
Basically horse armour
There are like, 4 types of people in this world.
Those who didn't use nitro
Those who use nitro and use the free ones
Those who bought the one like liked with or without the nitro 'discount'
The idiots who bought them all out for no reason
<.<
hye y'all, do I need to avoid ||collecting artifact Mu to get the rest of the powers|| before activating NG+?
@charred flower we got a NG+ quetion over here.
The button for NG+ is very specific and finite, as long as you don't turn in the shards, nothing can happen
Heck, when you decide to press the NG+ button the game goes 'hey wanna go victory lap chat with everyone'
Well, just before that I guess
But yeah it did seem completely tied to storing all the shards
okay good
now how do I get all ||powers||
cause vlad isn't giving me any more locations and I'm missing 2
check your missions?
I'm like 90% sure they don't unlock all of them in the first run? Unless you haven't completed the main quest where they hand you a bunch of random ones just before the end. I read something about the powers having ||varients|| and NG+ kinda facilitating finding those as well
Sorry, I woke up and jumped in VR kind of first thing, so wasn't keeping an eye, literally on my computer
Yuuuuup
And unlike your starting armour, ||doesn't upgrade through each NG+|| afaik
Apparently everyone you ||restart the game ||it’s stats go up
the ship goes up to like +5 or +6 I think
saw that online
the armor is banger
but like, the ship couldn't even take down a single level 14 va'ruun ship
maybe if I had multiple levels in various ship skills it would have been a bit better
ive only just started on putting some points into ship things

I know for a fact i'm in the minority here, but i like them
their just a calming... intermission between the games regular stuff
Weegy is clearly insane cause im already gamed out for Starfield
was funny though after i got the blast attack fighting a starborn thinking "oh wait i can blast people now" and proceed to fire space magic at him
Honestly the telefrag annoys me more
Since as I've said before, the detect life power that literally 'detects life of humans and starborn'
Fails to detect them till they decide to spawn them actively in front of you
i saw it as it would not see them cause they werent actually there till they teleported in
also forgot about detect life i was wanting to use that
That argument only holds as valid when you ignore the fact that I actively watched an NPC walk over to the specific spot in the lodge for that one event, where the starborn apparently 'teleported' into ||holding someone hostage||
I actively saw the NPC run over to the designated spot, spammed the power a few times, and only after they decided 'event start' did the starborn register on the skill
So I basically ||watched Walter hold himself hostage for a good 5-10 seconds||
Before the thing actually bothered to spawn the starborn
that still feels like a they teleported in moment to me
Walter was in the middle of the animation when I triggered the ability
So unless the 'they teleported' has weird 10 seconds worth of immunity to the power
Its stupid
And all that assuming that 'they teleported' is the answer, when every single time it is shown as more of a cloak ability
Because the times they do teleport has actual effects
Not power detected effects though, they still somehow magically avoid all that. Because 'manmade cloaking tech' is superior to 'magic BS star power'
i say that cause everytime i get attacked it really does look like they deep strike in
that is a good question though can you see yourself with detect life?
If you choose the lodge option at that specific 'event', you'll see them teleporting around within areas
Either way, teleporting or cloaking
Whenever the game feels like, I'd love that tech or ability that they clearly BSed their way in to solving plot holes otherwise
I expect cloaking is some sort of power based on skyrim having invisibility, but thats never stopped their original 'detect life' stuff
there is suit cloaking, weird perk unlocked stealth cloaking and then cosmic magic OOH HA HA stealth
@mild bridge HORUS!
I MUST BUILD A BASE THERE
wolf system.... gotta find that
gotta build a base that is worthy of the space wolves
its basically around the far left somewhere
very early easy system really
and you dare insult the Sons of Horus with a space wolves base!

||Ok meeting yourself is a bit unexpected||
||wow the second one is kinda sad||
||3rd is weird, one star constelation you could say||
||8th with Evil you is interesting||
||dang the Kids one kinda makes me think that you just vanish from your own universe without a trace||
||thats how it is||
you just... blip
It's not the only one as well
I posted a video of all the variations you can get
It's incredible
Woot woot!
We still using this?
https://www.pcgamer.com/starfield-data-miners-uncover-fossilized-remains-of-a-much-cooler-more-hardcore-game-tucked-away-in-its-files-we-had-a-washed-version-of-the-game/
Because that might be difficult and we all know Bethesda is terrified of making players do hard things
my gut wants to say that ED's last expansion's failure had something to do with it
that being serious then flopped made them decide to play it safe
the starmap there is so much nicer then what we have though
Everything about the game(good and bad) to me screams largely outside influences, rather then internal
game X got bad reception so they scrapped features in common with it
ED?
Elite dangerous and the flop of Odyssey
Ah
I mean I’d have liked fuel to actually matter
And for space travel to not be so automatic.
But, as is, it’s an acceptable system, although modding can fix it
Quite easily.
I’d bet money on a “campfire” esc mod coming out for starfield very shortly after release.
…… the hyper realism Skyrim mod
That’s an actual nightmare to play but really addictive.
We discovered an issue we want to address before releasing our update into the Steam Beta. We're aiming to release it later this week but we'll confirm timing when we know for sure. Thanks for your patience!

First land vehicle
@vale pawn
Woo wooooo!
Man modded starfield is going to be so fun
its almost like they've been frothing at the bit for modding abilities and finally they got them
Modding abilities are a few months old at this point
they had tools but not much base material to work with
yeah
well
sorta
they got full creation kit
just nothing easily moddable like a vehicle
the Moon Rover looks amazing
