But yeah, the Webway is an extraplanar corridor system created by the Old Ones as a "fast travel" network for the Eldar during the War in Heaven, which the Eldar continued to maintain and use after said war (eventually losing the tech for manually creating new entry/exit points). The Webway is alive, able to grow into new connections on its own albeit very slowly, and also connection corridors will begin to literally rot away when exposed to leakage of the Warp into the Webway.
Areas like Commorragh are massive enough that the rotting from the leakages can simply be ignored as long as they close up the spot the leakage is coming in from.
The Emperor wanted to figure out how to open up connections to the Webway in order to ditch Warp Travel tech (he was also looking into Necron Warpgates for a similar reason), but the Horus Heresy sort of... Killed that plan.

I dont even know what playstyles exsist, can you make a few examples. In most games I prefer to either play defensively and shell the enemy from a safe distance or crush the enemy with a heavy assault force. I usually prefer small elite groups over single units or large armies.

they're basically civilians turned into biological computers, I have no mouth and I must scream, who keep the empire together by repairing what needs done. some of them have combat capabilities but primarily they are drones that are ordered around to repair. importantly, their brain is still fully functional. they can feel every agony they are in, they cannot express any of it, and they must obey. unless something screwed up and they gain their freedom, but such a thing would be killed upon being discovered.

|| the story is good and interesting, but it did cut alot of the original nor custom building your commander units, no procedural dungeon exploration so cannot choose to take a optional risk for more reward, and missions auto fail when hero dies, unlike in the original which it was just a resource loss, oh and also you get 1 hero instead of the usual 4-5 tech priest
i am enjoying it but necron campaign feels like my infantry is just worse then theirs, reanimation doesnt actually work the way youd think the 3 turn limit is actually killer because half you team will be down and you cant replace them because they are technically still alive ||
|| also one of the necron heroes is a take the hit front liner which is actually detrimental to you so using him in the way youd think he should will just cause a loss if your not careful to 3 servitors killing him because all melee ignores all forms of armor||

|| in necron story you get ti deal with senile phaeron and his dickish court which was cool yet to play mechanicus but honestly they will probably be super easy since they get the strongest ability in the game known as permanent DOTs and units that ignore AOP and attack 3 times for 4 damage flat||
Its not bad just interesting balance choices and a new gameplay style

Could be like this just for difficulty on the necron campaign but currently ||rust stalkers are genuinely the deadliest thing ive encounter, second only to skittarri vanguards And i fought 2 necron destroyers with the melee blades and they were cake walks compared to 6 rust stalkers||

Ragers aren't a threat anymore, the chem toxin melts through armor, and the accuracy of the needle pistol lets me one tap grenadiers and snipers.
