Yeah Same here, how do i
In the kiro for startup website it says you To use your Kiro startup credits, you must log in to Kiro using AWS IAM Identity Center (Kiro Enterprise). Startup credits are not available when logging in with AWS Builder ID or social logins (GitHub, Google). Make sure your AWS account is configured with IAM Identity Center and use those credentials to access Kiro and redeem your startup credits. I'm working on it
I cant find any login that allow for using your IAM login. I even tried to go to the site and click on enterprise.
Hi @upper folio, Based on the documentation, to connect your AWS account with Kiro startup program credits, you need to set up enterprise authentication through AWS IAM Identity Center. Here's how to proceed:
Required Setup
You must have AWS IAM Identity Center configured in your AWS account to use Kiro with your startup program credits. The documentation indicates that Kiro's enterprise features (which handle credits) require IAM Identity Center integration, not direct IAM user access.
Setup Steps
- Enable AWS IAM Identity Center in your AWS account if not already done
- Add users to the IAM Identity Center directory (your team members)
- Configure Kiro integration through the AWS console to subscribe users to Kiro
- Authenticate through IAM Identity Center rather than your IAM user
Key Documentation
- Enterprise onboarding: https://kiro.dev/docs/enterprise/getting-started/
- Team subscription setup: https://kiro.dev/docs/enterprise/subscribe/
- Authentication methods: https://kiro.dev/docs/getting-started/authentication/
- IAM configuration: https://kiro.dev/docs/enterprise/iam/
The documentation shows that credits are managed at the enterprise level through IAM Identity Center, not through individual IAM users. You'll need to transition from IAM user authentication to IAM Identity Center authentication to access your startup program credits.
If you need specific guidance on configuring the startup program credits or encounter issues during setup, you can file a support request at https://github.com/kirodotdev/Kiro/issues/new?template=bug_report.yml
Usage is subject to AWS Responsible AI Policy.

I am also getting errors when trying to log in with my IAM User. Per the bot above, I haven't been able to perform step 3 Configure Kiro integration through the AWS console to subscribe users to Kiro. I also opened a support ticket, and this is what they reposonded:
We received your query regarding the Startup credits on your account.
The AWS Startups support is a different team who is in charge of this type of request since the credit appliance its out of our scope, in order to resolve your query you need to create a case directly with the Startups team.
Please reach out to the Activate/Startups team through the link below for additional assistance regarding the application status:

There is a increase of the cases on their queue so please expect a delay on their reply, they will answer you as soon as they have availability.

It seems they have a big mess,
So once you set up everyone in the IAM Identity center, you can (inside AWS) search for Kiro, click on it and assign those users to the kiro plan but that is where I am stuck. If anyone needs help getting to this point, I dont mind helping but when I get there I can't figure out how we login to kiro.
okay now I logged out (I signed up for a free acct to test drive it before I applied to the startup program) of the desktop app and when I went to login I see the attached screenshots.
Im in! so when you go to the identity center you click settings and then find your URL, its something like this: https://d-XXXXXXXXX.awsapps.com/start. Once you do that you will be asked to sign in with your IAM username and password, authenticate with your authenticator app, then boom you're in.
Hi John, I followed your procedure and I am in. However, it only gives 2,000 credits, and when joined Kiro Pro +, it didn't explicitly said that they were included in the Startups Program free for 1 year. So let's see what happens at billing time, and if it not really included, then we would fight. Nonetheless, thanks for your guidance!
Ye I don’t know. I just applied for it and a few weeks later they approved it. When I logged into AWS under my Iam user the credits were there. Supposedly with this method it will pull from your credits first. I did get approved for the AWS startup program too and it worked perfectly for the first year; it just billed me and took from the credit balance.
how to apply for kiro startup credits program
sorry if its oot but how many credit you got from aws startup program and how do you apply for it?
ah i think this is when the hackathon started im missing out 😭 i saw on in #kiroween-hackathon
Sorry I have been working like crazy. It appears they have stopped taking applications. I can't find the old webpage where I filled out the app. If you have been approved for the startup program already it looks like you can still sign up your team. I got this info from this page: https://kiro.dev/blog/one-year-free-for-startups-2025/
thank you

ah, are you reporting a scam attempt?
I would send you the specific details via DM, but cant.
is there any support channel that is non public?
I wish we could help you
but we are just community volunteer mods not part of kiro team
ah ok thanks.
had to login here instead of the unique URL
https://view.awsapps.com/start/
then assign the plan to user via aws
