I have 20/100 spec requests used, but 50/50 vibe requests. I already have a task list setup from a spec session. But when I click to start the next task (and, ostensibly, use some of my remaining spec requests), I get the monthly usage limit error.

So, do ONLY vibe requests apply to monthly usage limit? What if I hit vibe limit before spec limit? How does that work?

I'm considering a full paid plan, but not until I have more clarity around this issue - not worth it to me as even just primarily in spec mode, I end up using plenty of "vibe" requests just giving feedback to Kiro or running routine commands at it's request. I'm concerned I'd never get full utility out of spec requests with such a system.

same +1, Kiro Team, please help resolve and allow the usage for hackathon participants.

I got the same issue and followed up with a test:

  • I purchased the pro plan
  • started ONE spec session (no vibes)

after the requirements and design phases were done I saw that I have:

  • 0 specs used
  • 6 vibes used

and I didn't even get to the task list!

I think specs only count when you initiate a task from the tasks list or something like that.

I'm sure that will be part of the update tomorrow - clarity around how all that works.

'Cause yeah, most folks i've seen have consumed all vibes and have lots of specs leftover that they can't even use.

spec usage = running tasks made in specs the md file
vibe usage = any interaction with kiro except executing tasks made in that md file
