Is it just me or is having just 7,5 vibe requests a day just completely stupid.... Why would they make Kiro so expensive when Cursur basically does everything for you for just the cheapest plan unlimited.

Just today alone I probably did about 100 prompts throughout the day. Kiro, this is too expensive!!!!!

Actually, you are correct. This seems to be very very tight limits. And when you are working on production app, this is not acceptable. Imagine a situation where you have issue and asked Kiro to solve it. After some iteration, it says "You have reached your daily limit. Try again tomorrow" What you will tell your boss? 😄

just a free trial in disguise as a "free plan", may aswell just make it paid out of the box

not anything special compared to the hundreds of other agentic ide's out there that are much more cost-effective and actually production-ready

for more info how the requests work you can check: https://kiro.dev/blog/understanding-kiro-pricing-specs-vibes-usage-tracking/

Here are some scenarios, assuming a spec task has average complexity:

Clicking "Start task" or saying "Execute task 1" will be 1 spec request
If you run multiple tasks at once (i.e., "Execute task 1-3), each task executed will be one spec request.
Executing subtasks (Task 2 with subtasks 2.1 and 2.2 = 2 spec requests) will be 2 spec requests

Today alone, I did 40 prompts already each debugging and repeating the same mistake over and over because Kiro doesn't even work correctly 70% of the time and needs a lot of attempts to get things right sometimes or debug. So now I lose out on an entire month because the software can't resolve it? Even some simple things... Don't get me wrong. There is lots good about Kiro. But debugging alone sometimes costs me my entire daily limit which is close to 50 prompts or so I believe. How can I be asked to spend 200 usd per month for normal ussage which only needs 20 usd with cursur.

I honestly just hope I finish my project before pricing starts so I can say Kiro goodbye forever. Rather not be broke before even launching any projects.

How can we contact the Kiro team about this? I seriously hate them for doing this... I truly hope they will change this asap. Being greedy instead of becoming a standard for vibe coding. Kiro team isn't looking big enough...

@bleak cedar I agree 100% with you. It seems very less limits. I think some other company is going to be launching the same kind of product soon with far more efficiency. I know there is one product from Google (Jules) but I have not tested it. But it is similar to same as replit, lovable and bolt.new. Actually, all these giants are taking advantage of their infrastructure where they can run massive servers to run these models to serve immense number of requests. Unfortunately, we can't run the huge models in our local with speed so we are left no choice but use these external services and empty our pockets.

Thank you all for your valuable feedback and patience regarding Kiro's pricing and credit consumption concerns.

We have recently announced our new pricing plans and introduced Auto, our new agent, which you can read about in detail here: https://kiro.dev/blog/new-pricing-plans-and-auto/

Some key improvements that should address the concerns raised in this thread:

  • Moving to a unified credit pool system instead of separate vibe/spec limits
  • Introducing fractional credit consumption (charged in 0.01 credit increments)
  • Auto agent that optimizes for both performance and credit efficiency
  • More cost-effective processing compared to using Sonnet 4 directly (using X credits versus 1.3X credits)

You can find the complete pricing details at https://kiro.dev/pricing/

Since these changes directly address many of the concerns about credit consumption raised in this thread, I will mark this as "answered". However, we welcome your continued feedback - please feel free to create a new thread once you've had a chance to try Kiro with the new pricing model and credit system (which is rolling out now and fully goes into effect October 1st).

Thank you again for helping us improve Kiro to better serve your development needs.

Kiro is an agentic IDE that helps you go from prototype to production with spec-driven development.
