Assuming you don't have the bus fixed, blueberries and melons are good summer crops. Hops are even better but you need a lot of kegs which you probably don't have. Just keep rolling as much money as possible into more seeds as there is a snowball effect. Fish while you wait for crops to grow

Also a lot of people hoard items, especially from mining. There are only a few things you need to keep, you can toss almost everything that's not a resource
