It actually matters a huge amount what you choose, there is significant benefits to the Jojo route and practical 0 benefits to the cc, in fact the cc route actually makes things worse for the player

Forest and standard are the most begginer friendly imo. And yes, potatoes are great for profit early on, as well as strawberries from the egg festival

It depends on what you want to do, if you like decorating and lots of space, standard would be the way to go, but if you want the fruit bats AND the mushrooms Than Forest. Beach helps with washed up stuff and probably sea fishing. Meadow starts with two chickens, riverland is primarily fishing i think.

What needs to happen is they need to make big tangible unique rewards to the cc to make them compete with Jojo on a game mechanic lvl so it offers some thing unique of equal value to make the choice harder

Yeah, fishing and farming etc. leveling them up means you waste less energy when using the associated tools.
As for stardrops there's only 7 in the game and most you can't get too early. Your best bet for energy is eating food to recover it. Be that forageables you find scattered around the map, fish you catch or food you cook/buy

Kegs multiply the value of fruits by 3, preserve jars multiply it by 2 and add 50. So very likely the Keg but it takes over twice as long, so the Preserves Jar ends up better for stuff like Strawberries.

A lot of people don’t utilities the sheds this way but it’s very much worth it after the setup. a shed occupies 21 squares and can grant space for 150+ crops so they’re amazing. There is a couple of limitations but they can grow the majority of things
