Hello. Has it been addressed that gifting NPCs a skill book can be difficult as the book can accidentally be consumed by the player when trying to give it to them?

I'm kind of frustrated gifting Pierre the Price Catalogue when my farmer "consumes" them instead, multiple times now. Trying to adjust my farmer's placement, the cursor's placement, so on and so forth, aren't working.
