you get random mushrooms from it, but it needs trees around it, you get moss from trees, they grow randomly and odds are huge when a "green rain" happens for all trees to get some stage progressions for it

You put it in water and add bait to it, and the next day it will have caught something. Freshwater and saltwater give different catches, and unless you have the right perk, you will also find a lot of garbage to recycle.

some types of animals, e.g. cows, sometimes give birth overnight (even if you only have 1)

I have what I need to get scull caverns if that’s the answer but I don’t usually get a lot of copper or iron from the caverns
