exchange rubies for spicy eel
exchange diamonds for triple shot espresso
exchange jades for stairs (only on sunday) -> this is the most important step to getting deeper in skull cavern, so duplicate jades with ur crystalarium(s)
exchange quartz for bombs (5 quartz 1 bomb) + craft bombs if needed
exchange omnigeodes for desert warp totems (3 omnis 1 totem)

healing - salads/cheese/purple mushrooms/cacti/squash/carrots, depending on what i have on hand

warp there bright and early on a max luck day for max amount of time in sc, eat when your health is at half not when it's low, avoid unnecessary combat

weapons-wise if you have galaxy sword use it, if not - use something like steel falchion and focus on bombing iridium nodes to get to get your own galaxy sword||

I got a couple questions about fruits, fertilizers, and artisan goods tha are a bit inter related

1. Since artisan machines don’t care about quality, is it even worth putting down quality fertilizers?
2. I got a lot of ancient fruit waiting to be kegged (and even with a completely full shed with an automation mod), but given the time it takes to do that and age it, should I divert some of that bunch to dehydrate?
3. Are Speed Gro fertilizers meant for crops that don’t regrow, or is it just better to make Quality Fertilizers?

1. nope not really, unless for quality crops bundle, or e.g. you're trying to get a gold melon/strawberry for gifting purposes, but often times basic fertilizer is already pretty good
2. you can if you want to, if i was in this position i will just make more kegs, 1 shed isn't that much
3. it depends on the crop, because sometimes some speedgros can let u have more harvests in regrowable crops (due to shortening the initial growth period), so just check the crop growth calendar before deciding what you want to use

e.g. strawberries in y1
if you finish cc spring crops bundle, collect the reward (20 speedgro) and plant/water the strawbs on 13th night, it lets you have 3 harvests instead of just 2 before the end of spring

2. the cellar isn't/shouldn't be the bottleneck, bc it's just meant to be an extra income, just sell the wines that can't fit in the cellar as-is, unaged
   also the item you're mentioning is post-cc so best to be discussed on #stardew-spoilers (and the math for that isn't great, so many forgo it entirely)

3. if you decide to use speed gro, consider using deluxe speed gro from ||sandy - 80g a pop on thursdays||, don't craft your own

3. if you have any spare omnigeodes, i'd just trade them at the ||desert trader for desert warp totems||, it's cheap (3 for 1 totem) and u don't have to risk ur farmer's life XD haha

bombs, food buffs, spicy eel ||can trade ruby for them at the desert trader, one ruby = one spicy eel|| for speed and luck, (check tv for daily luck and go on a good luck or very good luck day) to help find ||holes and ladders easier and quicker. galaxy sword, to obtain go in the middle of the three pillars in the desert and hold a prismatic shard|| is great if you have a prismatic shard, also spicy eel + coffee cause speed stacks, stairs, use Crystalariums to duplicate jades to ||trade with desert trader on Sundays for staircases, one jade equals one stair case||, Salads are also a cheap healing food and are always available at the saloon, cheese is also great for healing.

Yes heres some very standard tips
Tree farm- can be on farm but i prefer train station or ||quarry||. Plant around 10-20 oaks, 5 maple and 1 pine. Tap these. Then plant any type of tree in remaining area. Placing paths between trees is a great idea to stop dropped seeds from growing. Also when you get the resources mushroom logs between trees for extra profit.
Fishing- best early money maker, investing in iridium fishing rod is a great idea. Best places to fish per season- spring: if raining, the river, otherwise mountain lake, summer: lake before 6pm, ocean after, fall: if raining, river, otherwise ocean iirc, winter: ocean (plus submarine at the night market)
Animals- worth the expense and time, best are pigs and sheep followed by rabbits
Crops- best to process as many crops as possible, generally kegs are best for fruits and jars for veges, but if you only have jars/dehydrators its still better than selling raw, dehydrators are good for all leftover crops, best crops per season: spring- cauliflower and potato, summer- melons and blueberries (plus starfruit later), fall- pumpkins and cranberries
Tools- upgrade pic and axe first, then its up to you on what you need based on your activities

i have a problem: i've been trying to get from level 9 to level 10 in gathering for a while now, and i can't do it. i always gather wild fruits, chop down trees, do everything, and i don't level up.

For reference on how much that is. level 0 -> 9 is 10,000xp
