general fishing tips - u can use the training rod to practice fishing (it has level 5 bar size), eat fishing level buffing foods, such as trout soup/sea jelly to temporarily increase ur level and therefore fishing bar size
later on you can buy the iridium rod at level 6 fishing, and use a tackle like trap bobber to slow it from escaping

Yeah, they don't last all that long. What you'll want to do is invest in either hardwood fences (mid-late game) or stone fences (early game) if you want a fence.
If you REALLY want a fence that'll last you, tea bushes are the way to go. There's also hedges from the furniture catalogue, but that catalogue's expensive.

Depends on how you use it.
I've seen people put the bushes down in spring, harvest them until fall, tear them down and then sell them so they make profit off the tea leaves AND the bushes.
But that's a long-term investment.

Depends on who I'm playing with. When I play with my GF I go with shared and we just communicate what we're going to buy but if I was starting a farm with people I'm less familiar with, I'd go with separate.
