For fruit trees, the higher value trees just end up being the best, since they're just a 1-time purchase. Truth be told though, Fruit Trees are rather mediocre outside.

They're significantly better ||in the greenhouse, where they'll produce fruit all year long instead of just one season. There's no harm in buying some and having them outside before unlocking that though, since you can always move them||
