Also decorations don’t need to be bought, Catalog and furniture catalog give most decorations for free once bought. The catalogues are expensive though

easiest way is to let them outside to eat grass, but they can't do that in winter

the other way is to put hay on the feeding rack near the top of your coop

if you have a silo, it'll be connected to the hay hopper where you can grab some to fill your rack

when you harvest wheat you get a little bit of hay

but the real answer is much simpler

you build a silo, and then use the scythe to cut your grass

so long as there is room in the silo, grass will be converted to hay when you cut it

you can empty the silo via the hay hopper in your barn/coop

harvest wheat with a scythe and you should get some hay. or use your scythe on grass around your farm and you'll get some hay from that as well. if you have a silo, put it in there. if not, i would put it in a chest in/near the coop/barn to get wheat from to feed your animals if they can't eat outside

Once fully grown, you are able to place anything next to them. Only non-sapling trees can have paths placed nearby while growing.

so the seed maker is used to make crops into seeds. Basically you put the grown crop into the seed maker and it turns it back into seeds, you usually get more than 1 seed too

youll also get the crafting recipe for the seed, which isnt too useful but its something. youll be able to turn any ancient seed artifacts into actual seeds.

to use the seed maker you need the actual crop itself. so youll only be able to use it when you get your first fruit going. it takes a long time to build up ancient fruit. but its worth it

the only reason to use a fence is because you dont like your animals being so far apart/entering your other areas.

aside from making them quicker and easier to pet, theres really no reason to use a fence. the important thing is they have grass to eat, thats about it
