big coop and deluxe coop add additional animals you can stuff in there, you can also hatch eggs when you get the big coop upgrade.

base level coop unlocks chickens at marnie's ranch (path leading south from the farm and left from town if you take that path). coop upgrades unlock different animals, same goes for a barn upgrade.

you also unlock an incubator when you upgrade from a coop to a big coop, which lets you put in eggs to hatch an animal

ranching (that's what animal farming is called) is more of a side hustle for an average playthrough, usually you go Farming on lvl 5 and then Artisan on lvl 10

when you process animal products they turn into artisan goods (for example, Eggs into a Mayo Machine turns into Mayonnaise, and Milk in a Cheese Press turns into Cheese) which benefit from the Artisan profession's extra value when sold perk

They're nice and pretty, plus you can get some money off of them. But definitely not a necessity.

The best way to farm it is with a Slime infested floor if you can find one. Otherwise just resetting something like floor 5 to force mob spawns

In order to find a prismatic slime, you must search for one in the mines to kill in order to obtain prismatic jelly. My fault for missing this. Each day in Spring, Summer, Fall, fully grown Oak, Maple, or Pine trees have a chance to grow mosses. Green rain trees can drop mossy seeds, which can be planted to grow more Green Rain Trees. You can also harvest them to a mossy tree without cutting it down by any tool, weapon, or bomb. It can also reduces its moss growth stage, so it will take time to regrow

iridium tools aren't necessary at all

only need steel tools really, anything beyond is just because you can

not saying they don't help mind you, just not necessary, with the watering can, you get sprinklers, with the pickaxe/axe it mostly saves energy, and a touch of time

which leaves the hoe, if you want to, you only need to till soil once

if you go trapper->mariner you don't get trash at all

and in my opinion, is the best possible way to make money from fishing

it's more than 500 crab pots that you can put out, I forget how many exactly

even with the worst turnout in 500 pots you'll make 10k g in profit

and thats before you consider higher quality fish and turning the low quality fish into sashimi, mm

after that it's probably more like 30k

does admittedly require spending a whole lot of time collecting and filling the pots though

you also get different fish depending on if it's salt water or fresh water, just like normal fishing

so if you're not getting the fish you want, maybe you need to move your pots

lava eel on the other hand is very much so worth smoking

you know when I talked about crabbing being one of the potential endgames for fishing, I did neglect fish ponds, I'm not too familiar with them. If you could fill your farm with fish ponds, and had the preserves jars to age the roe, it might be very profitable

I've only got a sturgeon fish pond right now, but filling them with lava eels would be something else wouldn't it? 😉

well the sturgeons give you caviar, which is the special aged roe, which is why I have them

as I understand they're probably not the most profitable though, that would be lava eels

the legendary fish seem to have more expensive roe mind you, but their ponds don't expand

IMO mushrooms are like a lot better but you find people defending bats to the death so

realistically cave choice only matters early game and even then not by a lot

Most people say Bats to help complete the community centre and mushrooms for profit but I always go my own way and choose mushrooms. As for Moss keep it you will need it later.

Good tip for new farmers I found out last night,if you want hardwood easily just reach foraging level 10 and everytime you cut down trees it will drop aswell as normal wood

bats have a % chance to give you fruit every day. mushrooms give you 6 mushrooms every 2 days and have a % chance to give you more valuable mushrooms

there are 2 major differences: mushrooms are more profitable by like 6x. However the mushrooms grow in these six boxes, so you have to pick them every 2 days or they'll just sit there. Whereas with the bat cave, the bats drop the fruit on the floor so you can just let the fruits build up over some time.

the three weapon stats are damage, speed (how fast you can swing it) and weight (knockback on hit)

1.6 makes rice good, but that is only if you're in year 2 onwards and you irrigate it along with agriculturalist and deluxe speed gro and have a mill and you turn the milled rice to vinegar by kegs
