I suggest doing mountain lake which is next to robins to practice fishing. then buy the iridium rod and put deluxe bait and either cork bobber, trap bobber, or barbed hook on it as the tackle.

for chests you need 50 wood, to craft stuff, open your inventory, and go to the tab that has the hammer, and that's where blueprints will show up. the way to get blueprints is just by playing the game, leveling up your skills, and you'll occasionally get some from the other villagers.

you can always buy more buildings later. i’d make sure you have one of each and just work on getting a system together, once you feel comfortable with the current animals. you can upgrade your barn/coop for better animals!
