if you're trying to make a lot of money, generally youll just be hand watering crops until 5 pm until mid summer xd but i tend to go the route of just doing whatever feels best, and it ends up being more fun!

Yes and no? It’s easy for a new farmer to lose money if they smoke cheap fish. That’s why I originally gave the rule of thumb that if the fish would sell for >150g, don’t smoke it as a guideline for new farmers.

• plant potatoes so you can have money for egg festival (Spring 13th) strawberries will definitely give you more money

• eat forageables for energy, they're free

• if you went for cc route (definitely the recommended route for beginners, because it helps you get familiar with the basic mechanics of the game), check the cc guide in the pins! or use a tracker http://sdvalleytracker.cdagnew.com/

• for leveling up your skills, just pick one or two you like doing (personally went for fishing and mining)

(also for mining, progress 5 floors at a time. the elevator saves your progress and allows you to jump back in where you left off)

Re: the potatoes, the egg festival is a lesson in crop timing. To know when you can harvest a crop add the days it takes (the seed description) to the current day. If watered every day, that's when you can harvest. If you "ship" using the bin on your farm, you get the money next day. If you sell to pierre, you get money immediately BUT he's closed wednesdays.

Strawberry seeds are sold at egg festival which is the 13th BUT stores are closed for festivals. So you need to harvest and get money for your crops by the 12th to buy the seeds. So do the math.

Then when you get the strawberry seeds you need to plant them that night, after leaving the festival. Its advised to till and water the soil ahead of time.

Yeah making a chest is an early priority. You'll need more eventually. When you need to move them you can bash them with a tool to slide them. There's a "workbench" item, I eventually build a horsehoe of chests around it to make things easy
