it's not. the lower levels are much less consistent. I recommend going to level 35, clearing the copper, going back up, going to 30, clearing that, and repeating.

It doesn't directly reduce energy spent, but it reduces the amount of hits needed to break stuff so you'll indirectly use less energy

in general, yes! upgrading a tool decreases the amount of swings for something to break depending on upgrade and tool. which one you do first depends on your playstyle but I'd say it's not a bad idea to upgrade your axe early

really, it's whatever you like best. Coffee is a great option to have a constant supply, but you shouldn't fill your whole greenhouse with it. you can also plant high-profit margin regrowables like ancient fruit or strawberries.

Scroll 3 is dropped by many enemies in floors 81-119, however, has a much higher drop chance from blue slimes in floors 41-79.
Scroll 4 can drop from any monster in the mines except skeletons, at an equal chance for all

You can, but I've never really found that to be better. Whilst you're killing monsters for the scrolls you're also progressing in monster slayer goals and getting a ton of other loot (even a chance for a prismatic shard if you've reached floor 120) as well as gaining some farming XP.
By tilling, you won't get that many things. Some clay, some cave carrots and maybe some artifacts/geodes, but not as worth as monster slaying imo

If you really detest combat however, then yeah tilling is a more relaxed way to go for them

You can plant less crops if they're taking up too much energy.
At the beggining it may feel like they're worth very little. You don't have any farming professions, no way of processing them and spring crops are honestly the least valuable ones

As you level up farming to get things to make them sell for more, also unlock sprinklers to automate the watering and processing machines to increase the value of crops it'll eventually become the best money making activity in the game

You are right about fishing early on tho, it's very profitable and super worth spending some time on

Usually people do a mix of both until they can fill the greenhouse all the way with ancient fruit, I do about half and half and haven’t added more ancient fruit, and technically yes but it’s too late in the game to be mentioned here

I put ancient fruit in the greenhouse, and use starfruit elsewhere. Since ancient fruit doesn't have to be seeded again since it'll be there forever even after harvest so I prefer it that way

And you have more space to put more starfruit
