Yeah - That one is fairly evil, RNG wise. Another useful trick that might help would be to upload the save file to one of the predictor websites, look to see if it lists which floors will be || infested ||, because those tend to be super slime heavy and will stay on the same floor for the entire day

And unfortunately, the best item to try and solve it is the one that you get for completing that special order.

you can get iridium quality (purple star) fish two ways. one is getting a perfect catch. perfect catches increase the quality of the fish by 1. the other is using a special bobber

Some quests have no time limit. Don't worry about them. Do them when you can. If it has a clock icon, there's a time limit. But there's no penalty for not completing it.
