Stuff you can't plausibly process, and cheapish vegetables like green beans. Mass crops such as berries (until 1.6 adds a new machine to help with that...), some kinds of forage.

If you have the machines to process things in a reasonable time, it's usually better to process everything. But sitting on stacks of crops waiting for machines to finish is also a waste.

For example.. Blueberries. You're likely going to get multiple hundreds, maybe even thousands, of blueberries. Sitting on this amount waiting for your Jars to finish is a lot of money just doing nothing for a long period of time.

If you're on v1.6, the machine I speak of is ||the Dehydrator. One is given for free if you choose mushrooms for your farm cave; more can be crafted using a blueprint buyable from Pierre for 10k. They are weaker per item than kegs and jars, but do work incredibly fast: five items per cycle, and finished in one overnight. This is perfect for processing huge piles of berries with only a few machines.||

If you're doing the Community Center, you should buy an Apple and Pomegranate tree before fall so you can get the fruits needed for that.

otherwise, for the purpose of progression/money, I'd start on Animal Buildings personally, I don't usually upgrade the house until Fall.

Only exception are slimes, the special slime spawn rate is i think 1/120 or 1/100 (can't remember)

They have a little star on their antennae indicating they'll drop a weapon

Either repeat a floor over and over to look for a rare slime or farm crates
