You can just create a new save, it won't delete your old one

You can have multiple saves

Just hit the "new game" option

So it's not necessary to make a new save for the update, but it is recommended

That's not true, don't worry. It's recommended to make a new one because you'll unlock all the new stuff in order and stuff, but you can totally just keep going with your save, don't worry

non modded is just normal "vanilla" sdv with no changes
