4 corners is a favourite of mine, I found it good when I was a new player because I could allocate each corner to a certain job, like lower right for animals, lower left for the crops, upper right for fruit trees and keg jars n stuff

The fiberglass rod is very worth buying. It lets you add bait, which makes fish bite basically twice as fast. It's a massive upgrade

Fiberglass means you can add bait, which means you can catch MORE fish because the wait time is decreased. Iridium rod means you can add various tackles which can make catching fish easier.
