They sell for 50g each, but you get 3-4 per plant each harvest, and you'll get 4 harvests through the season.

Only downside really is they take 13 days to first grow, so you'll go half the season without return on them. But you could just fish/mine for gems in the meantime to make money

There is a slight chance your animals can be eaten by wild animals if you lock them out of the barn/coop overnight. But other than that your animals will never die, can't be killed by you, can only be sold if you want to get rid of them.

I solved that in later years by planting fiber seeds over the winter in Speed-Gro. I could take my time with it and do a portion at a time. Then day 1 of Spring I would just scythe away the fiber and the ground would already be hoed, watered, fertilized (speed-gro), and even completely free of any of the normal day 1 Spring debris.
All I'd have to do is plant seeds.
