The whole point is generally to avoid combat though if you're running the Caverns for farming ore so anything that assists with avoiding damage/combat and assists mining like magnetism is good. ||

In my experience you generally keep up with being able to replant 1-1, but you also have the option to supplement from the trees that naturally regrow in the Cindersap forest and mountain area.

You don't need speed grow except for making 3 harvests instead of 2 possible, but you don't really need to worry about doing that. Depending on the number of plants you purchased too could make it quite expensive.

The grass under post method just means you have a source the animals can never eat to fully clear the area of it, it will always regrow a bit. However, if you have way too many animals for the space then it will not be sufficient or you'll have to supplement it by adding grass starter sometimes.

It can be quite annoying to find, the best way I find is resetting a single floor each day that has slimes. I usually reset floor 5 of the mines.

Because that's how it starts, you just moved there and don't know anyone, you have to build it up.
