trees will always try to spread their seeds, since they're not considered hazardous. Weed/Twigs/Stones will also alays spawn at the start of the season, and spread from one another.
The only way to stop them from spawning is to have stuff in the way. Like paths, or grass.

Sprinklers. Make sprinklers. They'll save a lot of time/energy which lets you spend more time doing other things, and allows you to grow a lot more crops with less effort to make money.

That's unlocked at level 6 farming, which is about 220 potatoes, or 190 kale in spring, to give a rough idea.
Basic sprinklers, while a bit awkward to use, are very good for new players though, and very easy to obtain uickly and early.

Quality sprinklers are 6 farming and you need gold bars, so floor 80 in the mines. As far as quickly getting them, that really just comes down to your experience.
Personally, I prefer grinding out 30-40 Basic sprinklers instead during spring, just because I odn't like the time cruch of level 6 and floor 80 early.

The whole farm. Rather than protecting a specific area like scarecrows, lightning rods work on a chance based system where the lightning checks if there's avaliable rods to strike, Picks one, and if that rod is empty it hits it, if not, it strikes a random tile instead.

Ducks always have a chance to give you a feather in stead of an egg. The chance is impacted a bit by daily luck, but mostly by their friendship/mood. So just pet them ever day, make sure they're fed, and if you have edible grass outside let them out to eat it.
