Plenty! Most importantly, play the game at your own speed no need to rush just enjoy it! Luck influences mining so on good luck days, especially if it's raining, go to the mines. If its not so good luck and raining go fishing, this can be incredibly profitable past time when first starting out, catfish appears in the rivers in spring when raining so go there.
You will run out energy quickly so make sure to have a good source of food. Parnsips arent very profitable so i reccomend eating the ones you plant on day one. Field snacks made from tree seeds are great also for a quick boost.
Check the wiki for the villagers gift likes and dislikes before gifting to not waste resources.
The community center is something I'd highly reccomend focusing on so make sure to check what you need for it and save those items to deposit. If you hover over an item in your inventory the cc symbol will glow showing it is needed.
Also it's important to most of the time save 1 of everything so you have it if its asked for in quests or recipes.
After a couple weeks set up a wood farm in the train station/quarry for extra wood as it runs out quickly on the farm
Quick tip: tea saplings are SUPER profitable early game, like selling the actual sapling. Crafted from forageables seeds, wood and fiber so relatively inexpensive. The recipe for the sapling is given after cut scene with Caroline after getting 2 hearts with her so make this your target if you want to earn money quickly.

I would generally avoid buying weapons unless you really really want to haha. You should generally do ok in the mines with the swords you find
