On my current farm, I regularly buy all my wood and stone from Robin, because the time it would take for me to go find a tree and chop it down or run to the mines and hit a rock is worth more than the monetary value of the resource itself

Without spoiling things, when you go mining for iridium you will be mining the three lesser ores constantly along the way

Still, you can easily get the ores needed for sprinkles by mining

Since you can't buy iridium, you have to go mine it anyway, and you'll get the other ores you need in the process

The miner profession comes in clutch in those instances, basically cutting down on the amount of mining you have to do by up to 50% in some cases

And early on you need that copper and iron for other things
