Hi guys, sort of a random question but how do people have huge playtimes on Stardew Valley?
I just sorta don't get it
A couple of years ago, I played until I got to the beginning of year 2, and obviously I had stuff to do but it's all stuff that takes time

Currently I'm just sorta trying to figure out what to do, I'm playing the game again now
On each day I basically either go fishing, or talk to everyone (and eventually I marry someone and that's practically it for me since I... get attached so I don't like divorcing and marrying everyone xD) , or go mining but fishing all day all the time gets a bit boring, and I know because of my previous playthrough that the mines end fairly quickly and then there's ||skull cavern|| but that's basically infinite so it feels a bit pointless? Of course I can try to complete the community center bundles which would unlock stuff but a lot of times the items I need for that aren't really obtainable at certain points, seasons and weather?

The point is that it feels like I don't have anything to do in game a lot of the time except fishing or mining?
Currently I suppose I'll try to stick to the goals of my previous playthrough of marrying someone, and finishing the mines but it just feels like... what afterwards? Once the second year begins it feels like I've seen all the seasons, talked to everyone etc so going back to my first question howww do people have a playtime of like 1000 hours or something in the game? xD

I want to figure out how to make it more fun for me, but I don't really know how

obviously in this particular channel there is a TON of content i can't even touch on or mention that happens post community center and adds both content and depth to the game. That being said there are a couple of things ill lay out here as brief points:

1. Farming --- maintaining a well rounded farm is great, mess with different crops, different animals, different artisan goods, and that alone is a long process of perfection that changes as you level up your skills and unlock more potential.

2. Relational Story --- as you build your relationships with all the people of stardew valley there are a TON of backstories that unfold and intertwine with the game. unless you are modding very heavily, there is no way to get through all of those relationship events by the end of year 1.

3. Community Center completion --- really diving into the community center provides a lot of varied goals for you to achieve. completing the community center takes time, patience, and exploration of nearly all the basic areas of gameplay for SDV.

4. Decorating an organization --- you can modify nearly every ounce of space in stardew! so are you trying to make your farm as perfectly efficient as you can? are you trying to make it look organized and clean? are you trying to set your farm apart from the rest of stardew by putting your own twist on what a farm can look like from a design perspective? thats not even including decorating your house or the rest of the stardew world!

the fact of the matter is that the game has an incredible amount of depth to it if you see it as more than just a 1 path type of game.

if you play stardew and look at it as a "can i make enough money to get the basic things available at the beginning of the game" --- that can be acheived very quickly and only scratches the very surface of the game.

there are pieces of the game that do not even get revealed to you until AFTER you finish things like the community center or complete your second year in the game.

its almost painful to not talk about it but believe me when i say that if you are playing with no mods, you could very easily find yourself all the way out to year 6 or 7 and likely still be finding fresh content if you are playing at a decently efficient pace.

Fishing makes about 5k a day, Farming is even more money if you put all your money back into it and just keep flipping it, the only things that don’t make money is mining and clearing your farm
