I personally went straight to pumpkins on my newest save, with only a few cranberries/the rest of the crops. But i was prepared and already had like 12 kegs by the end of summer. Got a room full of them by the end of fall.

besides, i would recommend using preserver jars instead of kegs when it comes to pumpkins because pickled pumpkins sells for almost as much and take half as long as kegs

Actually, pumpkins only take 4 days in kegs, so difference is honestly kind of negligible.
