It falls under no category, so it won't give you credit for one. But because it's worth 2500 gold it will give you 6 points at regular quality. Since it can't be anything OTHER than regular quality, 6 points is all you can get instead of the maximum 8 it would be for something that doesn't belong to a category but is still very valuable.
Iridium truffles, for instance, have no category but are so valuable that you get 8 points for them; you'd only get 6 points for a regular quality truffle.

for me I'd say not at the start. I'd clear up some space for crops and save the rest of the energy for other things. also, leave some grass and trees of each kind so they can grow back automatically.

You gotta save up gold and wood to upgrade your house to get a kitchen to cook - will take a while so I'd focus on earning gold and gathering materials for now

No, and don't worry about cooking much yet. You can make a cookout kit eventually or a kitchen. Watch the TV everyday , fish when you can, and enjoy!
