It's honestly up to you, there isn't necessarily a "right" way to play. If you start immediately from day one and do everything as soon as possible you can get it in a year or two, but if you want to have a more "scenic" approach to the game I'd say just kind of do things as you feel like it

Different areas give different fish, it's good to mix it up sometimes

@woeful echo it's pretty normal to not have the greenhouse until year 2 if it's your first time. Year one you're learning the ropes and can miss a lot of the crops, and the animal bundle can be difficult. Starting in year 2 you can apply what you learned to plan it out. Ideally you'd have it before winter

I like fishing there while the shop is open so you can immediately sell, especially early on with limited inventory space

So they will spawn daily and accumulate throughout the week, and then get refreshed on sunday, so saturday is the best day to forage
