But a good ideal to hold is to try and have at least one chest somewhat full of hay. (Stacks to 999 so itll take a while), and a good way to put a dent in hay expenses are to plant grass consistently throughout the growing seasons, try to let the yard get as full as ur comfortable with before harvesting it because it only grows at an exponential scale (less grass = slower growing) and usually its okay to harvest all or most of it at the last day of the season bc season changing spawns more

No matter what anyone says, the best way to play Stardew is how YOU enjoy it.
Make sure to fully experience the game, and, especially on your first playthrough, relax and don’t try to get things completed super quickly
