Chubs from fishing are decent. Salads from the saloon are the best buyable food. Salmonberries if you picked a bunch of those. You could always crow a crop for food as well, Blue Jazz flowers are oddly good (though their different colors make them a pain for inventory management)

Spending some time wandering around your farm each day to make field snacks is also fine
