Not necessarily, its often one or a few Mod's items that are shuffled.
But you can cancel and restart the quests usually

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). Stardrop on Nexus is a great mod manager for Stardew
you can remove the Objects folder and reinstall the mod(s), just keep everything inside the folders they come in

Basically you take the SMAPI installer folder out of the zip and click Install on Windows.bat
and having to is often an indication something is wrong

As a general rule zip files are usually entirely for storage, and unless something specifically says otherwise, the contents need to be taken out of the zip to function.

how do i make one mod overtake another? I have one mod that recolours the ground and one that changes the foilage, but the one that changes the foilage is only sometimes the one that takes priority. how can i guarentee the foilage one loads second?

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. You install mods by downloading them, opening the zip file, and dragging the contents into the Mods folder SMAPI made in Stardew Valley's game folder.

A tip for finding mods on Nexus: if you go to the mod page of a framework mod (a mod that makes it easier for other mods to do things) and expand the Requirements tab by clicking on it, it will have two sections: the first section Things This Mod Requires, and the second section Things That Require This Mod. the second one is basically a list of mods of a specific type

So i went to the reddit page for addressing my issue with Marnie continuously bringing me my "new" pet as I thought it had something to do with the SVE update. They had told me that it does not look like it is a SVE issue. My pet is appearing in random locations now. Any suggestions?

If you're using Firefox there's a symbol to the right of the address bar that has a list of stuff that's been recently downloaded, and it turns into a circular progress indicator if a download is in progress

That's relatively complicated
The simplest way, if you're talking about unmodded vs modded only, would be to launch the game via Steam for modded and via the Stardew Valley exe in the Stardew Valley folder for unmodded.

Mods are only applied to a save if the save is actually loaded in-game, and any changes to a save are only saved to disk when you sleep to advance the calender
The base Stardew Valley exe doesn't have SMAPI, so no mods; the launch options thing was making Steam launch SMAPI.exe instead of Stardew Valley.exe, so it can apply the mods
the more complicated method is mod groups

You could try starting 2 instances of SDV with the storefront launcher closed.
Unless its gamepass/xbox, I dont think it will let you do that.

- You didn't unzip Content Patcher, so it's not installed
Multiplayer. The Multiplayer version and the non-Multiplayer version are a "pick one" deal

So with dialogue mods I know Canon Friendly and farmerjacks are built to compliment each other, does anyone know how much clashing haywrites overhauls might cause between the two? ok I have a question, does the farmhouse map not pull the default double bed from the farmhouse tiles tilessheet anymore? I have a CP farmhouse mod I've been using for a long time, and it's had no issue, but now it's not reading the bed from that tilesheet, instead it seems to be reading it from the furniture tilesheet. I'm still troubleshooting and will hopefully work out this issue on my own, 'cause that's how I learn, but if anyone else has already encountered this, any info would be helpful.

hello so uh, i've been getting this error whenever i tried to launch sv (i'm on windows, modded, version is 1.5.6), i looked around a bit and turns out SMAPI has a file that's being detected as a virus for some reason (this happened after i installed SVE and the necessary mods)
i tried reinstalling SMAPI but that didn't really do much lol, here's the screenshot anyways if it helps

For some reason I had multiples of the same folder, with the same name so it was running no mods, so I had to move all my downloaded mods and now it's good

As for necessary: As far as I understood you don't have to run to Nexus within 10 seconds. If you have any issues with a mod: Update it asap. If everything works as intended: You can take your time. Of course: You're not getting new features of a mod until you update it.

Also make sure you're planting into tilled soil, in an area that allows for crop growth, in the correct season, onto a tile that is not already occupied by a hard to see plant

pick which version of those items you want to keep and delete the file of the one from the other mod

there isnt, no. its also not recommended to download on an existing save because it could cause a json shuffle and wont be as immersive
A Json Shuffle is when your Json Assets items rearrange their numerical IDs or different players have different numerical IDs assigned to the same object. See here for details: https://stardewmodding.wiki/wiki/Json_Shuffle
Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

Not sure if this is actually the right channel since idk if it's a problem based on using mods but: i've recently started to play my very old farm again. back then i used the item spawner mod to decorate it & placed a Wicked Statue just randomly on it. now that i'm playing again i want to re-do a lot and ran into a problem regarding the statue: i can't remove it? So basically, it doesn't register hits with pickaxe or axe, but if i interact with it without holding an item, it does "react" aka vibrate and play the pickaxe hit sound

Hello I was sent here for help 🙂 This is from a few days ago but I have not changed anything since.
I'm having trouble getting the game to start with smapi. Yesterday it worked fine, I had updated smapi and any mods that had updated to meet smapi. There was no trouble starting up after the downloads, and I played for a few hours.
Today it wont start at all! I took out all mods (excluding smapi) while trying to get it to run:
I updated/scanned/restarted my pc. Then redownloaded/installed smapi. Neither worked. I verified the steam files (it repaired/downloaded any files) and regular stardew runs perfectly. I have now uninstalled/reinstalled stardew, uninstalled/reinstalled smapi and looked online for any other solutions. I'm very lost here 🥲 no errors, just wont start. freezes if I interact with it. Otherwise it sits there loading forever.

Do you mean the "No Output found for" messages? That's not my mod, but I think that happens when a machine recipe specifies an output item that doesn't exist (usually because you don't have the mod which adds that item).

Oh, you're using the DGA versions of PPJA? Those are broken so far as I know. (I haven't started maintaining those mods, but I'll be replacing both JA and DGA versions with Content Patcher + Stardew Valley 1.6 when I do).

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

While I can load in every loaded schedule and graph that, I have no access to unloaded schedules
And modmakers use conditional schedules all the damn time.
It's basically not feasible.

I wouldn't think so, just open the gui or overlay and it shows that tiles containing an NPC pathway, then you would know not to place anything there or it would get trampled.
You would have to pull every single possible schedule, ever

And Pam Tries is like all conditional schedules lol, because she doesn't use any after bus
Like, i changed the capacity of the oasis chest, and it's not applying when I load my save.
And all of the spouse schedule edits I did are conditional schedules so I could give leah sixteen of them to randomly pick from
Also on my list is rewriting the whole damn pathfinder

In theory I could weight squares with things on them higher, npcs are more likely to walk around them
I don't know, it was just a thought. I'm sure it would be difficult to code, but it would be really cool if it was possible.

Parsing jsons or reflecting into CP to grab conditionally loaded schedules sounds painful and very very unfun

Are you placing new chests. Are you getting chests out of dga_store, or from a console command

Is the smapi mod compatibility page updated? There's a mod that hasn't been updated since 2018 on nexus but mod page says it still works so I was wondering cuz I thought most if not all mods broke after 1.5
