Chances are the pathfinding patches are having the greatest impact
Default settings for that are vanilla pathfinding but still using the rewritten pathfinder.

it usually pops up when you try to download a mod, there's also a required mods tab on the description of the mod page
And one thing to especially remember, is that a mod, can have a dependent mod, which can also have a dependent mod, and chain as much as it likes. Never stop at just 1 😅
seems pretty busy in here so, my apologies, but i've had a dialogue bug pestering me for weeks and i can't get it to show up in a log (that i can read anyway). it's a little fuckery between two lines under the $p marker, where every line after the | separator ends up being said in the same interaction, regardless of the preconditioned event happening. this happens in EVERY other line that also has the |. any thoughts would be appreciated
this is exclusive to this one NPC that's being modded of course

Can't quite find the reason for your craftables overlapping, but there's something wrong with your Greenhouse that makes it not load and instead only shows the default tiles
Maybe your "Greenhouse Entry Begone" and "Medieval buildings" are overlapping? Can't say for sure.. Though I'll assume so since they both edit the exterior of the Greenhouse 
As for your craftables.. Do you have any sort of a recolor mod?
In the description of Medieval buildings, it's said that it's compatible with the greenhouse mod-

According to the SMAPI log there are no standalone recolor mods installed... although it looks like "Natural Color Reshade" is or was installed since the .bat file for it is present.
yes, but i don't remember having any issue with natural color reshade- could shades retexture some of the craftables?
Don't think that reshade affects the craftables specifically since it's just a sort of filter for the whole game itself

ok after taking this into consideration, i found the evidence to back this up. you're right;
however, what i'm now not sure how to approach is how the dialogue will be affected after that illegal term is removed.
do you have to close and reopen the game each time you change a piece of dialogue for it to function? or can you just edit it and still have it work in game

You can type patch reload <the Mod's uniqueID> to refresh data
but dunno about dialogue, mgiht have to sleep into the next day

Remove Winrar files folder
Also Heart based dialogue because it's an xnb mod. Use Canon-Friendly Dialogue Expansion instead.

Hey so I have some troubles with ridgeside valley on mobile
Everything about the mod is running smoothly but the thing is that the festivals related to said village doesn't work
Like I get the mail for it and the notification that the event had started but when I get there

looking for help updating the SVE updates. mod user noob.

I'm trying to delete the old files, but it's saying I do not have rights and need permission. I've verified my admin status using cmd prompt, updated all the permissions in the security tabs to have full control, but i'm still unable to delete the files so i can replace them with the new ones.

i've had this issue too, my quick fix solution was to just move the files to a usb
As for your existing save, as long as you haven't opened it with the mods installed, it should be fine since saves are put elsewhere on the machine.

hi! i'm having issues with my save file after i updated ridgeside valley. i made sure to get rid of the original ridgeside valley file before replacing it with the updated one. every time i start it up it loads for a bit and then goes back to the start menu. it only does this for my main save file though. it could be a json asset issue but i'm not too sure. here's my smapi log: https://smapi.io/log/10c51b7e55b1421dae4bf017b1587126

You may want to go through and resolve whatever mods are adding the same items. Either uninstall one of the mods or edit it yourself. As for the issue with Hank, I would try to delete RSV completely (assuming that's where Hank is from), get a fresh download and reinstall. Sometimes files don't download or extract correctly.

Hank's from SVE, iirc, who had to rename that character(internally) to avoid a conflict with another mod.

hii, so i’m trying to use a portrait mod, but I feel a little silly and can’t figure out how to get them to actually work. I have all the required mods, and it uses the portraiture mod, but i’m not sure which files i need to put in or if i have to replace the original ones
I've been considering just cheating my way through them all, but most of the content I actually live for and enjoy is events and dialogue. Farming and such is just a means to an end. So I would spoil myself if I did that.

We do the best we can to make sure you don't have to replace game files though

my game is a little iffy rn and i think that’s because i removed the original portrait files because i thought that was what i was meant to do, but luckily i backed up the files, and luckily i didn’t download a ton of mods and can just redo it to fix my game

hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with something. I have a mod that changes furniture (the Industrial furniture set). it also changes fish tanks, but I was wondering if there's some way to disable the fish tank changes, so i can use a different mod for those
You manually have to edit content.json, the mod doesn't seem to provide config option to disable tanks
I've been considering installing the winter grass mod, but as someone who has absolutely ZERO experience in installing mods, can someone simplify what this means? I just wanna know if I can use this in multiplayer and if my friends would need it as well if I were to host a farm, or if I would have to just join another persons instead

I would assume then that by joining someone else's farm with the mod, it won't do anything unless they (the host) has it as well

it can. there is a pretty lengthy list of supporting mods to install to prevent any breaking issues. the walkthrough is pretty helpful, though. I am a modding newb and have been pretty successful with it (minus some issues with my computer's admin issues with some folders during updates)

Most 'shaders' seem to be driven by Reshade, which is overkill and generally poorly-implemented in terms of SDV (since they apply to everything that way)
and some of those are also poorly-implemented in that that don't actually work
'looking better' is subjective

load time depends on the amount of mods being used, and the size of each mod, some take up more of your cpu/ram

When you run the Windows bat for SMAPI, it should automatically create a Mods folder and then creates some folders under it for Error Handler, Console Commands, etc. Try running the Windows bat installer and point it to your Stardew Valley directory if it doesn't pick it up automatically

You're not using the default install location for SDV. Are you sure SMAPI is installed correctly? Does your game run if you just start it with Stardew Valley.exe?

You need to confirm that your vanilla game can start and is working properly before installing mods or running SMAPI. That way you can eliminate it as the issue.
just created an online multiplayer no issues without mods
so vanilla version is working

On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

It seems to be working now that I restarted, at least the vanilla version.
Now you can progress with installing SMAPI. Then test it. Then install mods.

It's fine. Could be the "LookupAnything" mod causing some issues.
- Temporarily disable it and see if the error goes away.
- Reinstall "LookupAnything"
- Update the recommended mods as per log...
i updated ridgeside, walk of life and quality of life, aquarism...
also those mods dont have new versions except cal of chance. its incorrect manifests the authors launched
the authors forgot to increment the manifest in those files
except the custom music and adopt n skin ones which i just downloaded

There are other errors in the log as well, including 1 base game error.
I'd start by verifying game files in Steam, then disabling the mods that give errors one-by-one to try and figure out if the errors are related.
That usually pinpoints the offending mod, in which case you could try to reinstall it.
You need to be sure that no other mods are causing the error in LookupAnything, otherwise you'll keep on trying to solve an issue that's not really there in LookupAnything 😛
well i know that part. its not the base mod lookup anything its probably the mods it mentions patch the method one of which i just updated and could be the issue
but then i cant load my save without the other mod
the base game error should be achivements being disabled

but the issue is that lookup anything is trying to grab a recipe and its invalid
which is confusing
however i did find a few more unrelated to recipe mods that needed updating
Best would be to ping Pathoschild on here and ask for assistance as the mod LookupAnything was created by them.

So I have a mod question. i'm going to reset my pc, and I'm worried it will mess with my save. if I have SVE installed, and I reset my computer, Will I be able to redownload it after setting my pc up and It will keep on going like business as usual? Or will I have to make a new save. I Guess what I'm asking is this: If I use cloud saves, will my SVE progress be saved?
It should be fine, but make a manual backup of your save just in case.
its the same with most modded games
terraria for example wont save modded tiles on saves in the cloud only recognized tiles. i think the same applies here
may change with 1.5.6 or 1.6 whatever its being considered which is implementing new mod methods

it works fine with smapi but the problem lies in deploy function not copying over all files in vortex to base game
also config generation sometimes
vortex when you get used to it is super easy to use and actually intuitive at a point
im so used to it being able to check for extra info from the manifests in the launcher without opening each individual json
also the ability to customize the appearance of the launcher and when it deploys and when it retracts is fun
quick warning though
backup your stardew mods in your game files and not through vortex
because modding using multiple vortex installations is a pain and it wont remove all symlinks
honestly i dont know why i use vortex anymore
my problem isn't in redownloading mods. my problem is transferring my modded progress over.
That'd all be in your save file.
Your modded progress is all stored in the saves + any files near the saves
If you grab the whole save folder you'll be good to go

I see there is others with issues with not being able to open chests. I can't open chests or receive rewards from the museum or CC. I use Chests Anywhere but I have Better chests disabled. I didn't immediately have this issue it just suddenly appeared. What's the easiest way to fix this issue?
Easiest way is to probably delete one of your mods that has something to do with chest inventory.

The load times are typically just at the beginning when you load in for the first time from what I have seen after that it’s fairly normal. But be aware that even with 32GB of Ram and a 2070 you’re going to have atleast 30 seconds of loading at the beginning of the game…

I just installed sve yesterday and it wasn’t a problem until after I installed it
SVE might simply be too massive for your device to handle? It's a huge mod, even if they've optimized the hell out of it, it's still pretty bad for older devices / those with limited space. I've never had a game give me a blue screen before though, but that's just my thoughts
A BSOD suggests something's wrong with the computer, the OS, or the driver.
So I have East Scarp, SVE, Ridgeside Valley, Downtown Zuzu, That Desert Mod Thing, and a few more mods on my Stardew Valley.
Would it be likely for one of them to cause a crash regarding a coop? I have this one coop to check if it has the required materials but it crashes immediately upon entering, showing a blanked out coop map (by blanked I mean everything inside that isn't part of the design is gone)
The thing is that that one's my chicken coop and I'm not sure if I can demolish it

(oh Beatrice's festival are added via East Scarp now anyway)
and its better to remove spouse rooms when you're not married to the characters anyhow
(I always did before you could load them with CP)

well, there were two errors there: one was that it wouldn't reskin my kids with Penny skins (yuck!) the seocnd came when I tried to use the command to reskin them via the console command
(that's not yuck for Penny btw, but more for how Hannibal Lector that sounds)

No problem! The majority of incompatibilities you'll face with SVE are ones that edit the maps and potentially NPC schedules. Since SVE is so popular, a lot of mods will state whether or not they're compatible with SVE

you can replace the cjb cheats menu warps with expanded ones if you want

that's not required for FS, it requires FS
As long as you have one pack for it it should work. I only have an animated hair pack and the backpacks and baubles accessories pack.

You can add gloves (sleeves) via FS but it is way too limited atm

which sounds like I HAVE to convert it to CP
And it's likely an outdated sprite. 1.5 new animations might have your farmer look wonky
Also, you didn't mention it was a farmer sprite. If it was I probably missed it.

Uh hmm since I don't know a lot about sprites, most I can do is a simple "Load". Though seeing as the glove sprite only seems to put a dark color over the original hands, you can probably do a "Overlay" instead.
Easiest way is to just get a mod that replaces the farmer sprites and replace their assets there

im playing with like 150 mods and recently i noticed that my calendar isnt working in stardew, when i click the calendar on pierres it just doesnt work
one of the mods i have are ridgeside and sve maybe theyre causing some issues but because of this i cant see villagers' birthdays and its annoying

Rsv and Sve shouldn't affect the calendar besides adding event schedules/birthdays
open the save, try to open the calendar, and post the new log
Not saying this is the issue, but I'd start by temporarily disabling [CP] Add Berry Seasons to Calendar and Event Repeater then check to see if the calendar is working properly.
