If a save gets corrupted, that's usually the end of it unless some expert knows a better way to fix it.

If I delete a mod that adds new machine & recipes, and somehow I already received the recipes on how to do it in the mail, does it get removed or will it stay?
Because I’m playing with stardew progress and it keeps saying certain items are not found (because I already deleted them) but when I played in a new save, I didn’t get that
I think those items are stored in your save file when you start the game. The top comment on the posts page of Stardew Progress talks about this very issue.
I'm not sure if there's any way to fix it though.

OrSpeeder's sprinkler mod has values in the config for RGB and A
RGB is obviously color
and I assume A is for"Alpha" meaning transparency
would higher or lower be the right way to increase transparency?
or is that on a per-modder basis?

with gmcm you can probably change it ingame and have it reloaded without reloading your game

otherwise just boot up a save and check the relations tab. if there's a girl with pink hair that you havent met yet somewhere, then its working.

alternatively i can recommend the flexible sprinklers mod. it provides its own overlay and adds... well, flexible sprinklers that adjust their watering area depending on the hoed area they are adjacent to automatically
Before I was getting lots of red text, as I was under the impression I had to copy things to the pertaining folders xD But now that I have it correct, I loaded up and everything looks good! My first indication was that the Joja dude was in my relationships list, lol.

okay, looking at the pictures helped for Flexible Sprinklers
so they will try to water any tilled soil up to the number of tiles indicated by the sprinkler type?
For Custom Producer Mod, how will the Worm Bin choose which of these to produce?
cluster mode, from what i understand, first checks which sprinklers are connected to the same field (hoed spots that are connected to each other) and then distributes the work to water the field between them. the mod also offers other modes, including vanilla via its config (if you just want other components of it)
tho the overlay it provides works really well and lets you see how good your coverage is whenever you click on a placed sprinkler

i'm using that mod aswell. what exactly is the issue? i dont think i quite understand. the button to move the hp/stam overlay doesnt work?
you could maybe make sure that its the right button that was set in the config. (add/subtract are buttons i set on my own, not the default ones)
the position of the mouse cursor is where I "dropped" the display widget
but obviously that isn't where it actually appeared
not sure how to fix that then. might be zoom level related, or windowed mode shenanigans. alternatively you could adjust the position via x,y coordinates.
(you can also hold down the move key and move the mouse aroundto see where it'll drop, i think)

Depends a lot on what you want out of a recolor
there's no "best one", it's up to taste
They will work on current saves
Some of them are slightly out of date (may not cover 1.5 areas)
For discussing favorite recolors, #modded-stardew may get you better results, but if anything goes wrong, come on back here.

the steam runtime option is in the compatibility options, same place as proton
same thing, just attempts to run and after a while it stops (with the steam runtime)
running through steam doesnt work, running it directly from the modding api exe just has an error and mentions dotnet core 5.0.7 not existing

maybe tinkering with the wine library settings for dotnet could help, if it's possible. i think it's done with protontricks with proton. not sure. could also try installing specific dotnet to the "proton" prefix that steam uses for the game i guess
yea that was with proton, but im just gonna give up, its not long till rune factory 5 comes out and if i start stardew again itll just get forgotten when i get rf5

if you have chrome just go to chrome://downloads/ and it should show you the file path location of your downloaded files.
downloaded them a while ago, but new windows update wiped my background
then just redownload them. we cant know where you ended up moving them after downloading

I already updated the latest version
of smapi
but it's been a while updating it along with other 38 mods. My last version of smapi was 3.13.2
might need to start from scratch and re-download everything
38 mods is not bad, that's maybe an hour downloading and installing mods and all dependencies while you watch youtube or whatever in the background

are you on a 56k modem or what? 38 mods (in smapi numbers) should never take an hour to download and install 
except for major expansions, most mods are hella small anyway and take seconds
!log could also do a log post and check what exactly is causing the issue. tho if you havent played in a very long time, its probably better to just note down what mods you had (or want) and redownload everything anyway (make sure to check smapi.io/mods aswell to see if the nexus version is really the latest release)

Hello! How long does it usually takes for modded version to start? (it has ridgeside, sve, aesthetic mods, cheats and spawner) it has 52 mods in total.

I mean you could do it in ten minutes if you knew what files you needed and didn't run into any errors. I'm assuming a couple minutes per mod to download, read description, get all related required mods, etc.

it's the artifact of SpaceCore and PyTK interacting with each other

And I don't know what to do because at random intervals I get CRAZY lag and stutter for 2-3 seconds
And it's SO ANNOYING
At first I thought it was LoC and while it has issues, the lag remained even without it

Lag/stutter is unfortunately very hard to diagnose
what's your computer's specs?
There are a few potential causes:
- Background processes on your computer (ex. my game lags/stutters horribly when my computer changes from light to dark theme at nightfall)
- Garbage collection in the game—Ameise has been trying to track this down but it has been proving elusive.
- Certain functions within the game can cause lag/stutter (ex. when I had a mod that spawned FTM forage at specific times, I would get a lag/stutter at those times, and when my daily screenshot mod triggers there's a big stutter)
- Certain mods are more likely to cause lag/stutter, and may have settings to reduce them. (For example, reducing FTM's monster spawn limit can reduce lag, and there are lightweight versions of DSV to limit the lag from switching many images on location change, especially in winter.)
You can try eliminating/diagnosing the first one by running Task Manager/Activity Monitor in the background and trying to correlate lag spikes to spikes in activity from other processes. This may be difficult to do in realtime.
The second one you probably can't do anything about unless you want to start diving into .NET 5 stuff itself I thiiink
The third one you can try timing the lag/stutter, and if specific times are problematic you can try to find corresponding mods
i used to have some lag with Automate when i went crazy with the number of machines in a group
had to switch it to fire every 20 seconds
otherwise it was unbearable, every second
Oh also I forgot:
4. If you have SVE installed, you can crank the monster spawn limit in FTM down and see if that helps with lag.
There are also certain computer setups that may be more problematic for lag: I think Nvidia graphics cards may need certain settings applied? And you may be able to change the amount of lag by setting SDV to run on a specific core on your computer? (Neither of these are things I understand very well though unfortunately)
i have it set to every like 11 seconds or so, since my timespeed is set to 10 ingame minutes per 12 seconds i think. most machines only work whenever a 10 minute update happens anyway.
yeah, i find it weird it uses seconds instead of in-game 10 minute intervals
( i couldnt even think of a machine that needs to update more than once per 10 ingame minutes )

If you want to see the Nvidia graphics card settings thing, try .q 5755 in #governors-mansion
they literally update once every 10-minute in-game interval
i guess at this point it's just backwards compatibility
otherwise Pathos would probably make it tied to the ticks
that might be something to suggest for automate on the nexus page as a "performance mode" checkbox, so it only fires once right before or after the update happens
It's pretty old, admittedly, but this lag/stutter issue is new.
My graphics card is AMD Radeon R7 200 Series, my processor is AMD 6300 6-core, 3.5 Ghz, 8 GB of RAM, and the game is installed in an SSD
so, your computer isn't particularly old
or have the groups spaced out troughout the ticks within the 10 minutes.
in my Machine Status mod i register myself to the readyForHarvest, minutesUntilReady and heldObject property changed events of each machine, and only do anything if they actually changed
anyway, this is off-topic, so i'll stop
Unfortunately the switch to .NET 5.0 may be tied to more lag/stuttering issues on certain setups (anecdotally), there was a forums thread about this issue (not sure if it ever came to any conclusions though).

so, the best way to diagnose would be to fork smapi, compile from source, and use VS's diagnostics.

If the mod uses content patcher yo load the maps (ie there is no [tmx] folder, you can probably safely remove tmxl and pytk and just make sure you have extra map layers installed. It may break a few warps though!

i was just playing stardew valley expanded with some mods and enter the marlon cutscene and it just bug the game in the loading screen

So, it has a lot of random stuff in it
Your save load times must be awful
(use SM, even with resampling disabled)
It's about 5 min load time total
sm without resampling even will cut that dramatically
CP more since it has my PR in it
I haven't played in a bit, so I need to go in and update a bunch of things
But I wanted to a) fix my own mod first and b) maybe test DTZ for that bug Harvz was getting reports on from Macs
The load time improvement in the latest CP was my PR - its not patched in SM because it's a structural fix.
But yeah, it'll help load times which helps you not have to sit around waiting.

Not off hand. I experience stutters with just SMAPI every few seconds.
SM can stutter a bit if a lot of new textures are loaded or invalidated
Since it has to momentarily block the main thread to handle certain things.
And some mods are... really bad about invalidations.
Hmm, I have zero issues with just SMAPI, I checked it after someone suggested I do it. This is peculiar
If I patch the SMAPI invalidating code directly I can improve that.
There is a complex issue ATM in the texture cache. I can either hold weak references there in which case they get flushed on GC, or strong references in which case the instances don't get suspended and reused.
I need a middle ground there.

This is also a silly question, probably, but what mod should I use to edit my farm map? Some of my mods messed up a portion of my farm, and I'm unsure how to retexture it as a mod noob, and I don't have a backup save file from before the mistake. 😦
I also found out it depends on how long you play. After removing SM, I didn't have any stutter for the first in-game day. It happened once or twice on the second day and it got progressively worse. No message for OOM stuff, though.
I realized that some of them I barely use/they are places I barely visit. Also removed NPCs for whom I've watched all scenes etc
I had to implement that in CP directly since it wasn't easily patchable.
Plus it was simple enough.
Odd. Could be heap fragmentation, or something else like a specific resource or identifier getting added repeatedly to a list.
Reset Terrain features didn't work, so whatever is going on here isn't considered an Object
Trying to figure out what mod those statues are from (I assume these aren't vanilla items) to try and remove them to see if that works

Ah, yes, it could help, it might not. It depends on a number of factors.
The biggest annoyance is that it basically jumps between two or more sets of textures
it sorta looks like CP:A in that regard, but worse
CP:A usually doesn't invalidate entire spritesheets

What happens if I delete my custom furniture and open up a save file that had custom furniture---does the furniture just disappear and I can play the game without any consequences? Or do I need to delete all the custom furniture before removing it from my game
you're gonna want to delete the furniture, both out of the house and in your inventories

Okay! I've confirmed that once the lag/stutter occurs (I can play half or a full in-game day before it happens) it reoccurs approximately every five minutes.
Sometimes, it happens more gradually, but sooner or later, this starts happening every 5 minutes almost on the dot and it renders my game almost unplayable 😦

Hmm. Debating if I should try out a different recolor and see if the problem persists

Thank you to those who helped me last night with the Hidden River farm map. The mod author responded to the post, fixed the issue and I downloaded the update. I'm happy to say it works. However, it caused glitches like this. I think I'll have to start over. LOL Well ok I was going to share some screenshots but I forgot where they are.
It's not a gamebreaker or anything, just annoying. If other recolors do it too then I'll just live with it
VPR just makes the furniture and the town interior look a bit more toned down

I have it changed to open with C and to freeze time with T but I had to first go into the game options to change the keys those were already set to. Like the game defaults T to chat. I changed that to space. And C was defaulted to something as well but I changed that to something else so I can use those keys for the mod.

@fast river I'm having an issue with a DGA mod. I've contacted the author of the mod, but it could be an issue with DGA itself.
Essentially, this pack adds some shoes with DGA, and when I uninstall the mod (or run the game without it) the load game screen crashes with an OOB error trying to draw a save slot wearing those shoes. (even with DGA installed) https://smapi.io/log/a49a646363124392adc36733986866b2

Huh. Got a weird issue with SVE
What sort of issue?
SMAPI says it can't load ShopTileFramework because there are multiple copies, and it can't load SVE because it needs ShopTileFramework
Did you delete SVE before you updated it?
I think it used to come with some of those dependencies.
That may be it. I cleaned the folder a bit but I'm not sure what I just replaced. I'll delete and reinstall SVE
But ultimately, you need to delete one of the copies of STF and your log should tell you exactly where they are.
that error is a little unintuitive but it does really sound like the "didn't fully delete" error
the reason it happens is that there's two submods sharing the same uniqueID across the before/after versions, but they don't have the same folder name
so drag and drop does terrible things
Who would ever drag and drop a mod into the mod folder and let it overwrite?
