Theres an article in East Scarp with the frequently asked questions and that one is covered! Also, smapi is extremely robust and it's quite hard to break your game even if stuff doesnt always work well together. So be reassured there!

there's a bunch. all that are CP are up to date since they are just sprites applied trough a framework and generally only that one needs to be updated.

I didn't know that downloading through gamepass changed the installation, I always used the pirate so I bought the gamepass and was surprised to find out that it had stardew
since gamepass/windows store is different than steam or GOG

So I joined the server just to see if there had been a conversation about it yet. It would be helpful if you would write out a request for help that details everything you've tried and what all is going wrong. Kind of like you've done for here. Otherwise, aedenthorn has pretty much abandoned Multiple Spouses for Free Love moving forward and I doubt they're going to want to fix any bugs with it for any version of the game without more detail. Worst case scenario, you'll get a "I'm not fixing it." and just move on.

ok so im trying to install rsv, dropped the folder in mods like it explains but the smapi output says its installed incorrectly. i tried separating out the mods within the rsv folder into the root mod folder, still the same error

there is a debug command to force perfection. I would not recommend using it

hello! so i'm very new to mods. like... i am basically a baby using a computer. last time i tried to download anything "extra" to a game, it was minecraft shaders, and i couldnt figure it out so i literally started crying. i tried to download stardew mods a few days ago, felt the "i'm about to cry" feeling, then dipped out. i guess what i'm asking is: is anyone willing to help me download mods? like... i'm talking coming into my DM's and possibly letting me screen share level of help. it doesn't have to be tonight, i'd actually prefer that it's not, but if you're willing to help me please DM me! 💕

There is 1 mod that was different. I'll check out the multiplayer link one, but the mods were working together just fine even with the 1 different one until yesterday

for the skill prestige mod, it looks as though there was intended to be a way to NOT lose your recipes, but I can't find out how to ensure I don't lose them. Any advice?

if you are already in the game? I forget. there's probably a hotkey
depends on the mod, some of them can only be tweaked from the title screen
i believe you are looking for either the hard hat icon or scroll down
on the title screen there's a little gear icon I think
to where the screen shot icon is
open your normal menu ingame (with skills window, relations etc, when pressing esc)
go to the options page and scroll all the way down.
if you dont have generic mod managger options thing mod installed, then just go to the folder that the mod came in, open the config.json with your text editor of choice and change the line that reads forgetrecipes or something like that from "false" to "true"

Android does have a version of SMAPI, but it's not well-supported and it's a few versions behind at this point so it's becoming more difficult to hunt down compatible mods

I went into the properties of Stardew and smapi and went to compatibility and High DPI settings and basically checked all the boxes and changed system to application
STF and TMX shop tile framework...
theres a few other issues as well
you have both grandpas farm and IFR2, that will cause an issue if you got Expanded working
you're missing mods for your other mods as well
I guess I should say dependencies instead
IIRC you're gonna want to delete and reinstall Stardew Valley Expanded, and make sure you delete one of those two maps I mentioned
also download the other dependencies for your other mods
Download dependencies and completely remove your expansions and reinstall it. Do you use any mod managers or is this is you downloading them manually?

Looks like you simply overwrote SVE when you updated it, you need to delete it and install the new version when you update.
That goes for mods, especially expansions. Always a good rule of thumb to delete when updated ^^
I hate to be a bother in here so much, but what would be a reason for an wall item (which needs to be placed on a wall) to give me the notification of "must be placed on a wall" when it is a wall I am trying to place it on (though it is a modded room in the farmhouse)
It's not a location coded to allow placement
Happens especially on older mods, since the wall placement is new to 1.5

You're missing the CP part of SVE somehow

it's a content patcher mod so it's open source by default really and the permissions on the nexus page allow modification and use of the assets
as long as you credit the author it seems. might be a simple fix if it was indeed it causing penny being stuck
or well, i'm not sure if "open source" has more meaning, but what i mean is that the mod is in human-readable form

It's rather unusual to have a mod where the source isn't public, but a bit less unusual for mods to not be licensed with an open source license
Some mods are not licensed at all, in which case the author retains all rights
I don't know if any code mods are explicitly restrictively licensed tbh, the popular licenses tend to be open source ones. The Nexus permissions section serves as a less formal licensing system, and under that system restrictive licensing is common.
The divide is in part between code and writing/art—people tend to be more restrictive in their licensing of writing/art, and more permissive about reuse of code.
I think this is in part because of a much stronger tradition in programming of open-source licensing, and the fact that art tends to be more personal.
Makes sense 
When someone is reusing your code, it feels like like taking control over your artistic expression, while if someone takes your art and modifies/reuses it for things you didn't intend, I think it can be distressing in some cases.
Mmm, I can see why lots of mod authors would be upset even if only a small portion of their art asset is used without permission 
(ie, saw a new portrait mod on Nexus before that used the hand asset of the original mod, author was not happy)

I can't seem to get winter crops growing on my farm after updating to the latest SVD/SMAPI/spacecore etc. Can any kind person help me out here??

hm, StardewModdingAPI.Framework.Exceptions.SContentLoadException: Museum Expansion CP loaded map 'assets/Maps/shopmu1.tmx' with invalid tilesheet path 'furniture.png'. The tilesheet couldn't be found relative to either map file or the game's content folder.. might be that the tilesheet path needs the .png part removed
There was a cafe that the museum expansion adds, and it seems to revert back to it's original "broken down state" as If i've never unlocked it (Although I already have)
Is the error relating to that?
tmx files can be edited with a text editor if you want to do it yourself

the furniture.png text to just furniture, without the extension, in the tmx file. i don't know if it's the actual problem, but it's relatively easy to test

Hi, I'm using the Paint Bucket tool from Alternative Textures to change my Cabin. The cabin was using Elle's Alternative Texture Buildings. It appears when a cabin is upgraded on the 2nd upgrade, the alternative textures fails to pick up. Anyone else run into this problem?

Loading alphabetically means that the mod with a name starting with the letter a will load before a mod with a name starting with the letter z. This means that the mod named z, will win. (Dunno if the order in the folder matters)
This doesn't work always, so it's preferred to add a false dependency.

Two content packs want to load the 'Maps/Town' asset (Stardew Valley Expanded and Stardew Valley Reimagined 2) so it's an incompatibility between SVE and stardew valley reimagined 2. they can't be used together at all i'd guess
well, you can check if reimagined 2 has config options to deal with it, but i doubt it has

I've been having trouble with SMAPI causing stutters. I made sure that it's using my graphics card, I have downloaded .NET 5 desktop runtime, and I actually emptied out the Mods folder entirely. About every 10ish seconds the framerate drops from 60 to 51-53 and causes a stutter. I even see this happening on the title screen. The logs aren't showing anything that would stand out as an issue. Has anyone else come across this and found a solution? Or is there a way to enable some verbose logging with SMAPI?
What did you do exactly? Did you use the bathroom mod first and then removed it, restarted and now the tiles are black?
there is a verbose logging option - go to smapi-internal/config.json to set Verbose to True - but I suspect what you actually want is something closer to VS's profiler
Right so long story short, I had to reinstall all my mods last night because vortex ate a bunch, so I moved it all to manual and got rid of vortex. Everything is working but this house mod for some reason.
and yes I removed the bathroom mod to see what would happen and if it resolved anything.
So before reinstalling the two mods worked together?

Maybe pick up all of your furniture, remove the mod, then sleep and if the tiles are normal, add it back.

You can try a reset as well—occasionally weird stuff happens that a reset can fix

It's IN the game. I see the little bugger right there. The roof of the dog house it was supposed to add is just barely peeking above the box. Even the new pet bowl is just on top of the old one.
I haven't downloaded any new mods before merging my mod groups, so I know this isn't a conflict with mod x

hi so, both me n my friend are planning to play modded stardew together and to do that we downloaded the mods from the same modpack collection from nexusmods together, however theres two problems
- my mod count says 226 whilst his says 230 when loading into smapi
- we wanted to add 2 mods to that but mine isnt updating the mods at all

i don't know how collections work, but some of the mods are not loading because there are multiple copies of them installed. you can see them on the top portion of the red messages on the log site

maybe the empty folders are from an earlier playthrough? doesn't seem like your friend has them installed
and your friends log has one multiple copies issue as well
a lot of these seem to come from an earlier playthrough although i thought they had gotten wiped after i fresh reinstalled
if you remove the multiple copies on both ends it might fix the whole issue

there are some mods not being loaded because they are missing dependencies (those can be parts of the mod itself), for example More Food: A Collection of Recipes for JsonAssets 1.9.13 because it requires mods which aren't installed (ppja.fruitsandveggies).

I would start by updating your mods and see if that helps it.
I'm not sure PlatoTK and PyTK are compatible so might want to check and see if you can get rid of one or the other.
That could cause lag if they're both trying to do serializer nonsense.
only custom tv is using platoTK in your setup
PlatoTK and Pytk aren't compatible afaik

anyone else use the Magic mod? I can't seem to figure out how the enchant weapon spell works and there don't seem to be detailed instructions on how to use it. Haste and Teleport work just fine but when I highlight my weapon and cast the spell nothing seems to happen
Hmm...just looking at the spell description, it seems like maybe it doesn't apply to weapons, even though the spell icon is a weapon?
after testing it DOES raise the quality of other items, I guess the icon being a weapon was just confusing, since I know you can actually enchant weapons later in the game

i have no idea why my game isnt loading
my mods r up to date
yet whenever i get on the game
there r no mods
like when u press p for the cjb cheats menu
nothing happens
it used to load with no problem
Have you opened the StardewValleyModding API instead of the normal SDV game launcher?

Well for one, I think your save file may be corrupted. You should probably try restoring to a previous backup.

I know the feeling
the saves that are there are from last year
There is a mod called Advanced Save Backup you might like
It backs up every in game day instead of real life day
If the haunted kitchen stuff keeps happening, let us know and we can look into it further though.
