(I think with special orders you have to "complete" them, effectively)
I think worst case scenario if you can't clear them you can always use cheats on a new save file to get yourself further
I think I updated SMAPI correctly, I downloaded from smapi.io and extracted all for windows. I did remove all my mods but I wanted to boot up the game without them just to see if it would load..but I got this and I don't really know what it means 😅

curseforge is safe but doesn't really have much
a few mods are on github, but I can't tell you github is safe because there's all kinds of stuff there
the mods that are on github should be safe themselves
but if you download random other stuff off github, no guarantees
the rest of the mod websites, as far as I'm aware, are all thieves
(github is just used for open-source code in general)

some of your mod folders are empty and some are incompatible it looks like
you're also missing some mods for other mods
- at least one mod seems to be unzipped into the
Modsfolder rather than its own sub-folder (Mods/i18n, Mods/assets, etc) - you need to update the list of mods at the top where possible (Love of Cooking has errors that were probably fixed, for example)
and several of your mods are out of date

shouldn't scale the size of a sprite if we aren't actually scaling it

custom npc exclusions seems to be missing too

Get either Rustic Country Town Interior, A toned down stardew valley or the New Asters big interior mod to change the beams.

So I read the log, and this kind of error is when a mod doesnt work. But they are using multiple spouses 1.5.1, and the last one for mobile is 1.8.1. The version was posted in September, and after that it was updated to 1.5. They can try :0
If you're on mobile you just use the latest version possible and if that doesn't work you roll back a version and so on.

so I finally got around to getting a decent sync program running with the people I play with on MP, including setting up a separate mod group for our MP mods. We are running a beta version of adopt&skin. In my SP mod I still have the multiplayer version, can I assume that if I just delete the MP version of it and add the SP version, everything should work out?
Unable to load audio: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\Stardew Valley Expanded\[SAAT] Stardew Valley Expanded\Atlantis.wav' is denied. the log has quite a few of these kind of errors actually, but most of them only show if you enable trace. for whatever reason the game/the user doesn't have the permissions to access the files, but i don't really know what's a good way to fix it on windows

Oh yeah- I've done those- my methods are weird but they work. Take the original files and put them in a different folder (there's your "backup") then replace the original files with the new ones in the game folder
If it fails drop the originals back into the game file and overwrite the new ones
That works too

if there's no alternative to the one you want to use, then its not a huge issue to use them.

Not sure about the crashes, but the load times could be due to expansion mods or anything that uses pytk.
So I tried 1.8.0 and an early version of free love and nothing
My old laptop has like 200 mods without crashing, this whole gaming setup has under 50 and crashes

I don't know if it's a bug? I'm doing the questing for fairy roses for sophia, and when I want to put the fairy roses in her chest, they stay grayed out as if that's not what I should put in the chest. Can someone explain to me what's going on?

In fairness, there are different 'levels' of OCD - not everyone with mild OCD has repeating compulsions (like "I have to tap my foot 5 times")

well, replacing the xnb directly is essentially the same as using CP's Load action on the same asset. but if you used CP it shows on the smapi log at least
The biggest problem is really that XNB mods break whenever the game updates
so if CA finished updating the game, we might see a return of XNB mods 😌 
they also don't really play nice with other mods
it's relatively easy to make cp mods compatiable

If you're using Get Glam—your saves will appear to duplicate. This is just a display bug.
Do not delete the extra saves or you will delete the original saves too.

I believe it should be fine to go from MP beta to SP version on your SP game, but I can't be 100% sure.
I still only have one dog on my single-player version

As long as you don't save if there are problems, it should be fine to do various experimental things with mod versions/removal/adding.

It was very annoying when it comes to the multiplayer code of adopt skin lol, as a farmhand I never saw the custom skins but the host did
They had a shiny Umbreon cat and I just saw a default cat
However the Shiny Ponyta horses worked consistently

anyone know how to setup furnaces with automate. trying to do like 2 furnaces for each metal, and a central coal, using chest mod to categorize, but all furnaces use the coal connected chest to pull a single metal across all furances
i dont feel like having a tab /bookmark with the commands open 
there should be options with the mod "chests anywhere" that let you designate chests as senders and receivers
it might work without "chests anywhere" actually...i use that to make sure it doesn't take the last item out i think?
well thats not exactly the problem
so lets say i have 1 chest with coal in it, and on each corner i put 1 furnace, it will p ull coal to all, which is what i want. now if i put a chest on each side of each furnace with copper, iron, iridium, gold...what will happen is it will decide "im gonna pull gold" and since theyre all "connected" with the central coal chest, it will pull gold to all 4
i dont exactly understand the problem. you want everything to be in 1 machine group but only pull coal from parts of the group depending on the machine?
when complete, it will push back to the correct chest categorized for gold only
what im trying to avoid is having to put coal into 4 separate chests
ill build a quick example and screenshot so it makes sense
i dont think that its possible to do so with the given configurations. it usually looks at everything within its machine group

Yes, if you got an error, which doesn't tell you what to do or what it needs, it's good to look at the bugs section of the mod. If there is nothing that helps then just ask here.
(Before even downloading a mod, I recommend taking a good look at the posted bugs)
If aedenthorn can't help, we can keep trying, but my advice is literally going to be trying different versions of the mod until something works.

So, I'm having some issues with two of my mods. For one of them, it loads fine, but then it says that it has an error "preloading" it. If anyone understands this, is this something I could fix on my end or is the mod just buggy and thus useless?
For the second mod, it's saying that it's "ignoring" some settings because the value isn't recognized?? When I checked the config.json file, the value was correct and not as it stated. Here's what it says:

airyn split them up so people and pick and choose, and theyre still super configurable

you should be able to just click off the dialogue box and then close it
then launch the game, if a smapi command box shows up you have it working

Is this a legit copy of the game? If not, I don't think someone here will be able to help you fix it.

Yeah that has something to do with your game being messed up. If you have it legitly, you can try resetting the files.

I know PyTK and TMXL and SpaceCore make it longer
I use all the big expansion mods, SVE, RSV, ES 
which is why it's hard to abandon one of htem
not sure if it helps, but if your game isn't on an SSD that might help?

I'm trying to check if I can remove TMXL
but I heard PyTK is usually the main offender
I think ES recently removed TMXL so...

after I download smapi, I extract the file, then I open the extracted file and click the "Install on windows" one, but that just wont open up. It appears in my taskbar for a split second then disappears,
If I haven't gift, abigail won't show love
If this is a new save, and if your config option is set to the setting that does this, it won't show loved gifts until you give one
I don't know what your configs look like, so I can't say whether this is what's going on
However, the mod appears to be installed just fine
does anything happen if you try to run the file again? thats quite peculiar

You need to open with some type of word document, like notepad
Right click and hit "open with" and hit notepad
where did you download it from? seems like people have been having issues with it lately from nexus (iirc?)
tried from nexus and direct download from smapi website
