enabling full control for all users didn't do anything. is there some specific setting I'm looking for?

would I have to re-download all my mods through Vortex?
right now I have two installs, one on my C:\ drive and one on another drive that I am modding. I launch through the StardewModdingAPI created by SMAPI
I can manually set the location to my second install where my mods are, and it can open the mod folder, but it doesn't seem to automatically detect mods
Vortex isn't great, I wouldn't recommend using it
You should be able to use a seperate drive fine.
(and even use STEAM's launch options to point to that)

from your log: it does seem like SMAPI is launching fine from the V: drive
the stuff in the other folders has all run fine, no reason why Production would be different
however I had another folder do this that I had named Combat
I took those mods out and put them directly into the Mods folder and they worked
but I wanted to see if I could figure out the error so I didn't have to do that
I will if I have to though
the chances of all these mods having a defective .json seems low to me, especially since those other mods worked fine once I moved them

the only other error is that a mod can't run because the custom crystalarium isn't installed, which SMAPI says is because there's no manifest.json for it in Production. but as you can see it's clearly there
also all the other folders still have those .zips in them too
what an esoteric thing to have to worry about

okay so I deleted the folder like it said. the game loads, but my mods aren't working when I press the hotkeys even though it says they're successfully loaded in.
Looks like you didn't put the mods back into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods

SVE just changed like everything. Since SVE is like the most major mod you use, I'd just move all mods everywhere and start over with installing SVE

You need to put the mods there for SMAPI to find them
The installer isn't a mod, but it's not actively harmful to keep it there—it's probably best to store it elsewhere but SMAPI does know to ignore it

I'm getting absolutely awful load times from the unofficial PYTK but the official one is outdated. PYTK is required for like 20 mods I have in my folder. Does anyone know of a way to fix the load times? I'm a bit desperate at this point, I'll give nearly anything a shot.

A few things:
You have Entoarox Framework, but it's not clear to me if anything uses it.
You have a mod named Spouse Room Template, which probably is a template for modmakers. You also have PyTK and TMXL, and it's no clear to me if anything uses those.
Removing these 3 may improve performance if nothing depends on them.
As to the flooring, can you run a patch summary?

So my issue is, the old txml isn't updated so I downloaded the new one (unofficial) but Jun needs the old one that doesn't work..

Had to take all mods out and put them back one at a time to find the broken one
this is the most tedious part of modding, but it's supposed to be standard procedure

I have a friend who I'd like to play the base game with (unmodded), but I don't want to give up my mods. I want to be able to play the base game without corrupting my mod files. I do have SMAPI linked through my steam so I'm not sure how to separate SMAPI from the base game and play the two separately.

what I do is basically have the vanilla game installed on my C:\ drive and then literally just copy+paste all the files onto another drive and it just kinda works
so I mod the one on my other drive and leave the vanilla for multiplayer

How i wish theres a latest version for android. So i can install the latest mods to SVE. why arent they create the compatible smapi version for android now? I have been playing SVE on android and stopped playing in May 2020. Only to find out that theres no latest smapi for sve yesterday.... sigh
unless it changed with the latest update, it should be possible to play SVE on android. the android compatible version is somewhere on moddrop if not nexus i think and probably has instructions how to find the android compatible frameworks. as for smapi

the android game version is older and i guess it's often too difficult to maintain two versions of mods to make them work both on the android version and on the newer game versions

@velvet plume Files with the extension .zip, .rar, or .7z are archive files, which you can extract to get the actual files inside. For a .zip file, just right-click (or long-press on Android) it and choose the option like extract or uncompress. For .rar and .7z, you need to install third-party software first, like 7-zip https://7-zip.org on Windows, Keka https://keka.io on macOS, PeaZip https://peazip.github.io on Linux, or ZArchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver on Android.
7zip is also what I use to create zip files. Then you could upload to a site like https://catbox.moe/

how do i know which mods are for android
Does anyone know if IF2 in multiplayer causes issues (like non-host players disconnecting)? I've been trying it a couple times with my friends and they're always dc-ing (I'm the host). Only happening after using IF2.
[Shop Tile Framework] BFAV API not detected. This is only an issue if you're using custom BFAV animals and a custom shop that's supposed to sell them, as custom animals will not appear in those shops.

So a heads up as I asked about lots of stutter a couple days ago. I found out the issue, for some reason If I use the fashion sense mirror and equip something in a few slots, my game stutters. I don't know if its from a backpack mod I got that has animation to it or not.

It looks like they're trying to replace the same asset, so probably.
Am on android SVE. The shed in bus stop area and claire's spouse room aren't visible and so was the case for Claire's house in her 10 heart event. I am using multiple spouse mod but I doubt that's the issue since the shed and claire's house were bugged before I installed that mod
the farm map error is due to missing Daisyniko's Tilesheets mod, the others are incompatibilities

so im trying to load Ridgeside village, all the mods are in there. theyre all fine except from antisocial npc's. i get a message saying that 'antisocial npc's DLL cant load because because antisocial.dll doesnt exist (something like that, ive attached the image so you can see clearer). ive tried quite few things and im still unable to work out how to fix it, can anyone help?

i think i might have
its good practice to always delete the previous version instead of overwriting. most often you dont need to but if you do and you didnt, things might get wierd.

Only problem is that I get a notification in the mail about them opening in town every second day
But it never goes away, so I can never see any other mail

can anyone help me with a small issue? I have two mods that change krobus' sprites (Eirenel's Korbus CP and Visual Sprite Crossing Overhaul) But they both change his sprite so it's cancelled out and the default sprites are used. I want to use the sprites from Eirenel's Krobus while having all the other sprites from the other mod. Is there a way to do that?

Visual sprite overhaul has one, and I set it to standard since it doesn't have an option to use the one from eirenel's krobus

what does it mean to view the content that needs to be patched? Should I visit just krobus and interact with him?
Err I don't know if you want to do it this way, but alternatively you can take the Krobus sprite you wanted and replace the one inside the VIsual Sprite overhaul. Then go inside the content.json in the Krobus mod and delete the line of code that essentially changes Krobus' sprite (Since you've already replaced it in the other one).
Any way, just food for thought. Naturally I don't really recommend it since you might need to try and redo it a few times since you might've deleted a few symbols needed in the json, but at least you know there's another way ^^
I'll try it that way if there's no solution other than that. I don't want to mess up any code or anything since I definitely don't know a thing about code lol

The error seems to be from Ship Anything, but I'm wondering if the other is causing problems as well.
i believe entoarox is used for the which farm cave redux mod
but yeah as soon as the game crashed the smapi console just kept showing red error messages and exceptions being thrown
That mod just uses Event Repeater
then i think event repeater uses it ?

Mods work in the Xbox app for PC, but not on the Xbox console unfortunately.

awesome. That will create a folder calle d"Patch Export" in your Stardew FOlder at the same level as the Mods and COntent folders.

It's injecting its own CC event conditions for some reason instead of patching the vanilla event, but at the same time it's also calling on a vanilla fork in that event which has Susan.
But Susan isn't in their version of the CC event, hence the error when she's called on in the fork.

I've gathered that PYTK and TXML are both defunct -- so how are people playing ridgeside without them? my SMAPI log says that they're needed? (Sorry if I'm getting this totally wrong). It seemed like the unofficial patches that were put out just make it so my game won't load at all?

Try reinstalling the game and then reinstalling SMAPI, did you ever launch the game after 1.5.5 in vanilla?
This is an error that sometimes happens when the game updates and seems to just like, forget a file or something
But the last user with this problem said reinstalling worked for them, I think

my friend and i are playing a multiplayer game and we use all the same ones except for very small visual mods. one of the mods we use is artistan valley- we have our folders and game paths set up the same way and everything. however when she pulls out something like "milky coffee" it'll tell me she's holding a steak. and some of our crops don't register on one anothers screens, any suggestions?

this is a json shuffle, unfortunately you might need to cross-check your mods folders and make extra sure, and worst case you'll have to actually use the same mods
fwiw, pytk is likely to break in Stardew 1.6 unless Routine comes back, so a lot of mods are actively trying to move away from pytk or have already
RSV is planning to do so in about a week. SVE already did
we've done that, we have uploaded our mod folders to google drive and gone into the folders to make sure we have all the same folders down to the smallest recipe, they are all the same
JSON shuffles are what happen if you add/remove a Json Assets mod while a save is active
nothing you can do other than trash/sell the items affected and spawn new ones in
the problem is we are spanning in new items literally right after starting up our file- without having ever used the mods before.
we've even cross-checked our mod folders and started new save files with all the same things
If they are in different orders in your mod folder that can be an issue too

Hers has something wrong with Fantasy Crops. You can see on the log page it doesn't appear in the JA section at the top.
You can also see in the log there's something terribly wrong because a bunch of subfolders have escaped their parent folder and show up as errors

Because for us personally, our game would not not run when PPJA had all those smaller folders inside it
The folder structure needs to be like this (using a different PPJA mod as reference)
All the individual stuff has to be in the objects folder
There has to be a manifest.json in the same folder as the objects folder
You can try having her delete all the random folders and redownload Fantasy Crops
alternatively, you can zip your mod folder and give it to her
so for me, here's my path: stardew valley > mods > [JA] More Trees (Fruits and Veggies) > FruitTrees, Objects, Manifest
That's just an example, does the manifest.json have to be INISDE the objects folder?

I have a new update to my SMAPI problem. Now a different folder isn't being processed, after restarting the computer. Everything in this folder worked fine until I restarted, but now SMAPI no longer recognized the manifest.json files inside them.

there's nowhere to report bugs on nexusmods so I made a post on the subreddit but no one has gotten back to me so far

I was told that as long as SMAPI could find the manifest.json files that folder structure doesn't matter, but that doesn't seem to be exactly true
The only things I can think of is that you might have too many characters in the path name, which is something to worry about when using subfolders. Or the permissions on the folder might have changed.
but why would this exact same file structure have worked yesterday and not now

I tried setting "full control" permissions for all users on a different folder yesterday and that didn't do anything

the .zips. do you think they are interfering?
If there is anything else there, SMAPI might be misinterpreting it as an attempted mod folder

Hello I have a question! So, I play on my Android phone and want to learn to mod. But when I look up mods it's all on computer. I was wondering if it would be possible to mod if I were to someone connect my phone to my computer? And if so does anyone know how I'd do that?

you have to enable mods, the guide tells you
you're supposed to have 2 sets of hotkeys you can set, and the key to swap between them is not working for me
There is an app you download, then you link it to your pc. I recommend trying to find a guide on google.
