I’ve one on order already because work, but I’m sure there’s a way to get mods to play nice by now
already tried that
The install script removes the files from macOS quarantine, but it's failing on this line:
internal/macOS/SMAPI.Installer
So some possibilities I can think of are...
• that file doesn't exist (would that cause that error on macOS?);
• this issue: https://osxdaily.com/2018/10/09/fix-operation-not-permitted-terminal-error-macos;
• or some other security settings/software are blocking access to run the file.
@tiny dagger Here's a few things you can try checking:
- See if that file exists
- If you have any kind of security settings or antivirus, try disabiling them?

you probably have PyTK
PyTK causes long load times
During which it may temporarily go unresponsive
It can take upwards of 10 min if you have a lot of mods
It more depends on what they are
I don't see anything that should be causing issues except pytk itself.
Honestly, I would try to just get rid of it if you aren't really dependent on it.
The last mod I had that needed it that I really wanted was Lux's Food Mod and I finally just gave up on LFM for now so I could get rid of pytk.
I don't think many of your mods do actually.
There is no alternative, but a lot of mod authors are working away from PyTK since it's likely to lose support soon
Maybe expanded woods and the cave one.

Just download the new version, and drop it into your mods folder, replacing the old version.

So you tried to update the mod and it's trying to overwrite the files or am I misunderstanding the problem? In general, it's best to delete an older version of a mod before updating it.

Sorry, I kind of forgot it doesn't go without saying that I've already deleted it.
You probably have a looping error. If you open your log in something like notepad, you can delete all the repeats except one. Their usually all at the bottom. So scroll down until you see an error repeating over and over and then delete everything from that point down.
Save and then try to make a log again.

Yes i do
So one of three things could be happening:
- You didn't actually delete the previous version (maybe cause there are multiples?)
- The file/folder structure is wonky and it's trying to overwrite some other mod.
- Windows is broken.
If you didn't have a manifest.json before with the previous version, it was probably broken because every mod has to have a manifest.json.
It's working then.
I'm not using any mods that add new items until 1.6 comes out but I'm sure people in #modded-stardew may have some recommendations.

Hello guys, i've coming back to play after 6 months so I had to update all mods. My problem occurs when I installed Stardew Valley Expanded, when it was crashing it said the mod was ignored and the game opened, now that's not crashing anymore the console just works fine but the game doesn't open

It keeps asking me to delete an aditional mainfest.json when there is no loose one to delete & the shell folder for the mod (which contained it mainfest) is likewise gone

The reason the mod was updating was because the old file structure was less the ideal and since I was trying to delete based on the file names in the new streamlined version, I was missing a bunch of decentralized files that were in the old version

hej guys, I've recently started playing with mods and I really want to change the colour of the walls inside the house (not the wallpapers). I managed to locate a file named farmhouse_tiles.png and repaint it, but the end result looks like it:
the green part is the part that works, the red one I'd like to change, but I can't find it anywhere 😔

I'm trying to change the game files directly, but theresno other parts of that interior walls in there. If there is a mod like that, I couldn't find it on nexus, would also be great (and a lot easier 🙈)
There are a few. Many are part of other mods.
I use Rustic Country Town Interior which also changes the inside of all town areas.
It's not recommended to change the game files directly.

I'm not 100% sure what's causing that. You could try updating the mods at the top or maybe removing Entoarox Framework, but I otherwise can't help because you seem to have a pirated version of the game.

It isn't easy. If you want easy, stick to pc. You can maybe use steamlink to play on your phone if you have the gane thrpugh steam.

How does the UI Info Suite 2 show experience, if I may ask? Is it only for defeating enemies? Also, does it show the total amount of experienced for a skill somewhere in the UI?
Any time you get xp, there is a box in the lower left that pops up showing how much you have left till you level.
I can't recall if you can toggle on numbers or not.
I usually just go by the meter.

Personally I just prefer UI Info Suite's method.
Someone told me I can hover over the meter to get numbers, like you can with stamina and HP.

I find it a bit tricky with UI Info Suite that you have to select certain items on your hotbar to see EXP, though.

Well, for some reason I've tried opening complete vanilla on steam and on xbox game pass, and they dont open. the window pops up but the game doesnt open... if that makes sense...
If you have launch options set you’ll need to remove them or SMAPI will launch

I'm using UI Info Suite 2 and SVE but Info Suite is overriding the SVE map so it shows the vanilla map but SVE NPCs is there a way I can fix this or get a mod to use the SVE map?
You can use the in-game menu to disable NPC tracking from UI Info suit to Use NPC Map Locations (more accurate). You may have a recolor mod overwriting SVE's.

are any common mods causing microstutters with 1.5.6? My game seems to run fine for a few in game days and then the stutters start

And json assets is a very popular mod
So my priors on this are low, but it's certain not impossible
The game itself has this problem in a variety of cases
Not obviously tied to computer quality
I get stuttering personally when I load in enough visual mods + expansion mods, but it's not super noticeable
And I also get some occasional stutters just in vanilla
I'm not enough of a computer expert to diagnose anything further than the basics, tbh

i have a vague feeling that someone solved, or at least reduced their stuttering problem by removing wind effects (doesn't really make sense that it would only happen after few days, but hey, it's something you can try i guess)
if it is wind effects I'm going to be very upset
Try installing Warp Snitch (mod) and get a new log with it
(and don't ping me cause I might be asleep and also am not an expert in warp snitch)
(just post in channel when you have it and if someone is around they will help)

@shy orbit Disabling wind effects actually made it worse, it's stuttering even on day 1 now, it only stutters when the world scrolls however
do you have the native vsync option enabled?
i've tried with and without, stutters either way

your npc map locations version is pretty outdated it seems at least
so update on my issue where modded music woud be overriden with the title music. It looks like the issue was definitely with custom music, as the music in downtown zuzu (which still uses custom music as of rn) is still having the issue, but in ridgeside and other sve exclusive locations with custom music, they play just fine now that they use SAAT instead. Idk if that is a problem that all Mac users have, or if it's just a me thing, but I thought I'd say this here just in case anyone with the same problem is looking for help.

Hopefully whatever issues they're having gets resovled, so mod authors don't have to make the total switch to SAAT, which I'm sure is a hassle (I have no experience with modding or anything, so i don't know if it's a big issue or not)

that's an old log actually, it's from game version 1.5.4. for some reason your game just updated it seems
To update SMAPI: download the new version, run the installer
To update other mods: download them and replace the old versions with the new versions
(for some mods you can safely overwrite; for big CP mods, expansion mods, JA mods, and any mod that tells you not to overwrite, you delete the old version and install the new.)

also i dont think the smapi versions for 1.5.4 can launch stardew 1.5.6
it's interesting that it was even possible to play 1.5.4 on steam less than a day ago. i don't think steam usually lets you launch games that have updates before downloading the updates

it only means the file didn't get many downloads yet
it doesn't actually check for malicious things

often you can tell - if they touch similar areas, they may not be compatible, unless they actively try to be compatible with each other
most likely those mods won't load together, and the SMAPI console will show an error at some point
but if they do load, it may still clash in some way
are there any particular mods you're worried about?
tbh most mods are compatible with each other, it's rare that they aren't

Smapi also said the framwork is having issues. and the E key won't work to open the menu. What should I do? it's a known issue that happens with an incomplete RSV installation. you can send a log here or just try to delete and reinstall RSV

On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.

I just started playing the SVE back. It has been 2 years already. When i tried to install the SVE 14.2, and since it is not compatible with SMAPI 3.13, i used 3.7.6 but the error i got is for SAAT, Extra Map Layer and others. Can help? What did i do wrong here
If you're on Android you need the Android Version of SVE and it's requirements.
Extra Map Layers and Co is for the newest PC Version of SVE
You can't play that version of SVE on Android.

well, i can see that the season requirements for the crop are added, so doesn't seem to be a problem with that. and that's pretty much all i have
on another note some of your FTM content packs seem to be corrupted, they are missing files according to the log (in yellow messages, if you want to look for them). the june npc has multiple copies in the mods folder and isn't loaded as a result (red messages on the top of the log)
For the FTM I have this problem for a while, I had asked for help here and no one was able to explain why it was noted that a file is missing, when it is present. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled
the June mod, I removed it for the moment
and I don't know what to do for this FTM concern...
doesn't really help you, but i tested the mod and the seeds were in Pierre's, so at least the mod itself works

So something I noticed happening in my game is in my relationships panel I can see loved gifts for everyone however it’s showing the loved gifts for the person below them… so whoever is at the top of my list doesn’t have any gifts shown because when I hover over the person on the bottom it’s just blank. I have SVE and all it’s required mods so idk if one of those is breaking it or if it’s UI Info Suites or even something else … but just curious if anyone else using mods has experienced this
Make sure your zoom and ui are the same

might also help. Flash just changed all the dependencies, so if you've had sve installed before, best just delete the whole directory and install again

I downloaded "Porcelaine's Wizard"
There aren't any config options for the name and gender in that mod from what I can tell.
If you want a fuller female wizard experience you could use Romanceable Rasmodia, the one you mentioned changes only portrait and sprite... and is not even a female wizard, just younger
(The latest SVE version isn't really complicated to install anymore, since it doesn't bundle mods or need files to be moved around. At this point you just need to install its dependencies and unzip it into your Mods folder, like any other mod.)
(The tractor is a horse internally, and it's assigned a random name like that to avoid name conflicts.)
That little note is just to get people to carefully read the installation guide (and get the dependencies right), but I can remove it.
Notably people might still want to check the screenshots of the mods folders there

Yes, you could, but that's basically equivalent to running down the list on the SVE wiki
(if it doesn't work, it's good to check that the path the mod is in is exactly that. sometimes another Mods folder seems to get created on mac under a slightly different path)

that's the framework mod itself, Farm Type Manager (which was working fine), the content packs for it are in separate folders in the Mods folder, and they were the ones having problems
the folders usually start with [FTM] and might be inside another folder (like the grandpa's farm one might be inside Grandpa's Farm folder or similar)

They might be in folders that look like [FTM] Mod Name
Your errors are coming from those content packs being misformatted

Hey Everyone, my UIInfoSuite2 isn't showing the NPC locations on the map. I checked my SMAPI for any errors or conflicting messages, skipped mods etc. and I don't see anything. Is this a known error? - Or should we be using a different mod to show their locations on the maps? TYIA!

hi everyone, i've got an interesting problem that i haven't been able to fix. quite a few of the items from the 1.5 update (bug steak, tree fertilizer, fish roe) are missing icons in my game. the game registers as them being there/usable, but they're completely invisible. i've already verified my steam files and i've been going through my mods, but none of my CP mods seem to be the issue. i'm also not really seeing any errors in my log so i'm a bit lost on what to do here.

Anyone use the mod More Buildings by Pathoschild and know how the fishing hut works? 
mods can be organized however you like, folder structure doesn't matter as long as SMAPI can find the manifest.json file somewhere in the Mods folder. so unless you have a problem with SMAPI not being able to find/read the manifest file, feel free to put it wherever
which actually brings me to why I'm here...I have a problem with SMAPI not seeing the manifest.json file for several mods, even though they are clearly there, I can see them and open them in Notepad++
is it better to post a question about it on the SMAPI subreddit or are there people around who are familiar with SMAPI errors?

@night hound Files with the extension .zip, .rar, or .7z are archive files, which you can extract to get the actual files inside. For a .zip file, just right-click (or long-press on Android) it and choose the option like extract or uncompress. For .rar and .7z, you need to install third-party software first, like 7-zip https://7-zip.org on Windows, Keka https://keka.io on macOS, PeaZip https://peazip.github.io on Linux, or ZArchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver on Android.
Try updating extra map layers and then double-check you have all the parts of SVE

I fixed this error for a couple other mods by moving them directly into the Mods folder but that would make a huge amount of clutter

some of the older mods don't have the .pdb files, but that's only used for debugging/printing slightly better info in stack traces
