My game has been crashing/loading slowly all of a sudden so I went into the program folders to see what was going on and there are a ton of extra/weird files in there all of a sudden. I know there are a bunch that are part of SMAPI, but there are a ton of extras all of a sudden and I don't know why because I've been running the same mods (up to date) for over a year. Any help?

im not sure if there is a github page or not. It's a pretty small mod that basically replaces lewis/morris in the ||summit cutscene|| with krobus if you have him as a room mate

hello i recently started downloading mods and i have an issue with the NPC shiko
whenever i download it from nexus mods, it doesnt come out as a folder i can extract but instead comes as a single file, which i cant extract and when i try putting it into mods it just doesnt work
any ideas?
this happened to me when I tried skipping a bunch of dialogue and seasons to get back where I was story-wise, but ended messing a lot of progression up. honestly I'd tell your friend to think of starting over, cause I don't know of any way to fix it (maybe someone else can give better advice?)

Also sidenote about the current version of BFAV. The one linked in the SMAPI log isn't accurate either to being the most up to date one nevermind, just for some reason the current version won't work for the mods I use so I use an older version, it seems to be right >..>

Probably the mod author forgot to update the internal version number in the manifest.json last update, resulting in it giving false update alerts

It's just a different kind of zip. 7zip can handle it.

yeah Adopt n Skin does multi-pets
as well as multiple skins for farm animals (as in livestock) and pets being able to be applied per-pet instead of "pick one"

Did you disassemble the mod? Are you using Vortex? There's some loose folders that look like pieces of a recolour mod, but it appears to be missing both its manifest.json and its content.json

Content Patcher goes in the mods folder and has a bunch of code that allows other mods to modify images, data, etc using simple .json code

Yeah i checked the mods on your list and none of them use Bookcase Mod.
It was posted to a site that's barely used for Stardew Valley modding and was never a very popular framework, and then it broke

since the only game version it's listed as working with is 1.5.1
what about pytk? i used the unnoficial version like recomended but it keeps crashing?
PyTK works fine; it's possible that Bookcase is breaking it, or that something's gone wrong with a SMAPI component

i already did the verify file integrity on steam
OK then try reinstalling PyTK
something is hecked up with your Stardew+SMAPI+PyTK install because you're using the same version of PyTK as all the other PC users and it's...just yours that's broken
so something possibly got corrupted somewhere

SMAPI is installed! If you use Steam, set your launch options to enable achievements (see smapi.io/install):

one last troubleshooting step before calling in PathosChild: back up your saves and your mods and uninstall SMAPI and Stardew Valley, then reinstall
go to Steam, rightclick on Stardew Valley, click Properties, there's a box that says Launch Options, put "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% in there

oh, there's the problem - vortex can no longer install SMAPI
run the installer without Vortex
(vortex wasn't recommended for Stardew Valley anyway because it does things like delete random manifest.json files)

hi this is actually my mod! i actually just updated it to 1.5 as well. something that helps me is event repeater here https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3642 which can help to 100% make sure all the requirements are satisfied by using the event_id command in the smapi console.
for the first event, the id is
11440407
and for the second event the id is
11440408
therefor the formatting of using the command would be
event_id 11440407
or
event_id 11440408

Oh! Thank you! I already have that mod, since another dialogue mod for the same boy adds 3 heart events, 1 is a random one that happens on fridays where he walks you home from the saloon, ones with his mother, and 1 his leaving your house at 6am. Though i did delete this mod from my mods folder thinking it would effect the mod. And the events still didnt work. I shall try updating both the event repeater and your mod, thank you so much again ❤️
no problem!!! i hope it ends up working for you! that mod sounds like it would be compatible with mine, so it shouldn’t be an issue to have both, the only issue might be a delay in events. with event repeater you can forget events which might help with that.
Ill try it with that mod and without it and i can tell you if it works or doesnt work if you like?

if you didn't get the letter the events won't happen as far as i can see though (the letter has 6 heart level requirement with sebastian)

that might be the problem actually. the mod checks for 6 hearts specifically

Time to give the boi frozen tears every day, till he gets to six hearts to see if thats the problem.
about the heart level requirement, the way the content patcher condition works is that it only checks for exactly 6 hearts as far as i know, so i think it should check for a range of heart levels instead (to avoid the player skipping the heart level)

RSV currently leans in more with the CC Route with its lategame events (since they're more connected to Spirits and such), but I'm pretty sure there will be something regarding Joja on a later release. But nothing like SVE does. Though I doubt anyone will do to much outside adjusting dialogue, schedules and maybe shop prices and hours, especially if you wanna keep compatiblity with SVE.
Kinda sad that people who don't want to use SVE get a lackluster Joja, but that's how it is.
i'm doing an extremely modded run and i was wondering which route to go with, CC or joja which is why i asked that question
i know sve allows you to lean super in on the joja part, wasn't sure how other big mods handled it. i think i'll just play it safe and do cc since i feel like that side would be given more priority since a small minority does joja and even a smaller fraction of that would mess around with story mods like that (since the main appeal of joja is minmaxing lol)

I think you should try reinstalling smapi. I don't think 'help' will work without a working version of Console Commands (which SMAPI installs itself)
How to configure your client to launch the game with smapi is part of the Getting Started guide that was posted above.
You can set up the steam launcher, but I wouldn't, so steam doesn't try to.update

no, not atm. i plan on buying a legit one soon but right now my friend sent me the file for this? i wanted to try playing the game after a long time since i'd only played a long time ago on a friend's pc

Fixed Mouse Click comes close to that, I think
Is that a option in game or a mod?
it's not perfect, and I think it has UI scaling issues now so you have to keep the ui + game zoom the same
but it works so your character turns into the direction of the mouse when you click
very useful for combat

no, he's using the steam console to revert
(steam console has a depot-downloader-like function to it, and it works without an indepdenent install of net 5.0, which is a problem on some macs)

also I'm not convinced you need to revert to 1.5.4, may I ask why you want to do that?

I have a 2017 macbook pro and i never had any issues before the 1.5.5 update. I always crash in game, and I can't even play even for 5 mins 😦 i tried even in vanilla so it wouldn't be a mods problem

You could try installing .NET 5.0 sdk for the hell of it assuming you have the space

I've got a very interesting problem that I need a bit of help with. I'm currently running a modded farm with 99 mods and everything is working except for like 3 tiles. Whenever I try to enter the Ridgeside Valley section through the bus stop it just doesn't work. The 3 tiles that are supposed to transfer me to the next zone just don't do anything.
Every other Ridgeside Valley area has tiles that work perfectly fine that I've tested through warping around the map.
And the smapi log doesn't provide any information, it says everything is working normally.
I believe some mod is just making it not work but I have no clue what it would be. I also get the same result with or without SDVE installed so its not that.

fwiw, last time I saw an error like that (that wasn't me being dumb with assembly), it was because my processor was overheating, and basic common commands (like ls) would start giving errors like that
if it's just the game, maybe it's a mod/Custom Music problem

I hope someone can help me. I was trying to create a new farm in multiplayer, that part went fine, but when the other player connected they never got the chance to create a character, they appeared default without names. In this mod setup older existing farms don't show any problems and can just be played normally, but new ones show problems. I see minimal problems in the SMAPI logs:

It will be really tricky, as these are heavily changed farms.. The terrain will be SO extremely different.

Anyone know how to fix this buggyness with my map? I think I can just disable the portion that Ultimate Farm adds and it'll be fine but is there any other easy fix?
so i got the plentiful harvest mod and the whole ppja pack of mods, which both have some repeat objects
if i wanted to, could i make, for example, a ppja almond recipe using a plentiful harvest almond? or can i only use the ppja almonds for ppja recipes and the same for plentiful harvest?
if i cant cross the recipes, how can i make it so that i can use almonds from either mod for either mods recipes

The only thing that could be breaking it, could be Shiko, all the other ones are pretty updated.
I have all the NPC mods and it takes me like 10 to 15 minutes to get into game

I timed ridgeside and SVE separately at just under 2 min each, and they probably don’t interfere that badly

If there’s errors then it might have actually crashed. If there’s no errors and especially if it’s been spitting out new text it just needs time.

Once the save has loaded, walk around town. It changes the map significantly

PeacefulEnd has so many good mods 
Give it some support, is one of the best mods in work currently
so true go grab peacefulend's mod manager, they put so much work into it and it doesnt eat your manifest files

honestly, if I didnt have a crazy structure involving symlinks at this point...
So i'm having an issue where the unofficial version of PYTK is causing very very slow load times and lag where used with space core, the developer of space core says he knows about this but it's on Platonymous to update PYTK to fix it. Don't know what to do 😦
apparently the latest version of spacecore might be better for this?

I don't know if Strobe or Pathoschild could potentially do anything about it. Your other option is to eliminate mods that use pytk.
So anything that uses tmxl for instance
