oh, I forgot to remove the tilesheet from the spouse rooms. Just delete the spouse rooms folder, its only relevant if you've married Aideen anyway

Most games I know support getting some kind of activity/timing information for how much time individual mods are taking per tick. Is such information available in Stardew as well? AKA I added a bunch of mods, my game lags and I'd like to know what's causing it.
- are you using SVE along with other big mods?
- are you using any Content Patcher Animations mods?

I am mostly playing around to see what works and doesn't work and what SV modding has to offer. So yeha it's SVE with several big mods (mermaid island, ridge valley, walking to the desert, PPJA ... well "with 307 mods"). Some of those are CP Animations as well.
Right now I'm mainly looking for the approach to take to debug something like this in SV to begin with. The debug commands page has plenty of information but none seem to fit the bill.
Actually looking at the log was a good idea as it does contain the trace information.
the biggest culprits when it comes to lag are CPA mods and expansion mods. the trace information is helpful indeed, but i dont think theres really a debug command for what youre looking for
removing the CPA mods should reaaally lessen the lag
Does anyone have a recommendation for mods that change your appearance without having to befriend the wizard? I also want to change my character's name, but I'm not sure there's a mod for that.

I don't remember which mod that was though. Something to get around those blind corners for a continuous path to Automate would be nice
Not entirely sure about it but Get Glam should be what you're looking for, maybe? Changing your name might be difficult I guess.

the space is your issue, but you also haven't actually pointed it to SMAPI and you're missing the quotes and %command%

check to see if East Scarp adds cave carrot seeds; alternatively go into Forage to Farm's files and delete its Cave Carrot Seeds folder
Forage to Farm definitely adds cave carrot seeds and i think it's east scarp that's also adding them. this means JA is trying to add 2 items with the same internal name and this doesn't work
is there a command in smapi to remove all logs and tiny stones from the farm
The clearfarm debug command seems to also remove trees so it's not just removing debris. You could try Reset Terrain Features for that!

That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

- u can look at the files for sandy's portrait and then sve's portrait yourself and see the difference
- i think its UI for when you're in castle village
vanilla has you looking at the side of her face, sve gave her a 3/4 turn portrait to match everyone else

Yep, just make sure the names of all the folders together are stupidly long when combined, as if the names are too long combined, Smapi won't be able to read the mods within them

This is a feature, not a bug. The mod description mentions there is tool progression. If you have that set to true in your config.json for Love of Cooking, then you need to upgrade your frying pan with Clint in order to unlock more "plates" AKA be able to make recipes that require more ingredients. If you don't want that feature, set it to false in the config.json.

You have a folder named Ridgeside Mobile, which contains all of Ridgeside, as well as top level folders for all of Ridgeside
I'm not really sure why or how SMAPI is detecting both, but that's what it's detecting
It's also detecting two copies of Custom Localization, one with a space and one without.
Ok so I worked out that Walk of Life is whatās breaking Quality Artisan Products but what can I do about it?
Pick which one you like better and delete the other one?

IT allows other mods to edit the Joja Mart by defaulting to original JojaMart and not SVE's changed JojaMart. I have to use it in mine, as mine refused to sell seeds for some reason.

Ye if you installed a JA mod that needed EPU, SMAPI should throw a warning / error about it (assuming you don't have EPU installed... I need to get my coffee)
if only JA is listed as a requirement then there won't be an error I guess (?)
By JA mod I mean a pack. So like, a PPJA mod
If the PPJA mod required EPU, then you'd see a warning / error from SMAPI saying "hey this mod needs EPU and you don't have it"
From the release notes, JA itself should not require EPU anymore

Ye I'm not sure at what point the mod author added the house option. Getting the patch summary will clarify what patches are available in your game, which were applied, and which were skipped. It'll include a little message saying why it was skipped, for example "the config didn't have the word X"

Ye this is weird. You have the clean option selected for the house roof, but it seems like the only changes to the house are seasonal O.o? So that's why it's not changing your house.
I also see a note there about FarmType, which is odd. What farm type are you using?

It looks like the last patch is specific to a FarmType, but that may have been an accident on the mod author's part (or part of a secret master plan hehe). Could you try setting the houseroof setting in the config to flowers and see if that changes anything? I know it's not what you originally put in there but it's the only thing I can think of
When I started my game to make the config appear, the default setting was on flowers, and even then nothing changed
hmm, then it may have just been a bug in that particular version then. I know I've used recent versions of Medieval Buildings and all the patches worked, so that's unfortunate

Ye I think it's a big bummer for Android players that you're on an older version of the game, so older version of mods, and there may be bugs in older versions of mods. Makes it tougher to troubleshoot
But like, the hair mod inparticular was loading files that were not even supposed to be in it-
The assets that the mod loaded were from another mod that i had removed-
If it was Get Glam by any chance, I definitely can't help lol I just use CP hair mods and manually merge them together

Which mod did you update? I'm getting that error from experience bars on 1.5.5 but it doesn't actually seem to matter. From what it says it's likely "just" unable to register its mod menu in game.

@tired brook I am wondering if you can help me and @rough spindle out. We both have been experiencing severe lag issues for quite some time. I have posted this in the SDV and SVE discord channels and tried all suggestions and nothing has worked for me. I use SVE, play the 64 bit Beta edition and have Ridgeside, East Scarpe and Grampleton Fields installed. The lag is really bad and is only getting worse since updating mods. It was not bad before October 2021 but now it is to the point of the game being almost unplayable. Is there a way you can help?

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the mod I was using before this fresh start. It allows you to reverse transmute some stuff. Prism shards into iridium bars, Iridium into gold, and let you make bombs and sprinklers using lower level ones (bombs from cherry bombs, etc). It's driving me nuts trying to find it, if anyone knowswhat i'm talking about.

I haven't heard of one that lets you craft bombs from smaller bombs, but you could try using the Nexus advanced search which has an option to search the description of a mod. If nothing comes up, it's possible you got it from somewhere else or that it's been deleted

gamergal, you have deluxe grabber redux -- do you have grabbers on a lot of maps?
that can cause massive lag (it did for someone else as well)
also, once again saying having like 5 huge expansion packs is going to make your game lag
especially grampleton fields
Yeah, Deluxe Grabber Redux is logging a lot of text to the console; enough that even just the logging by itself may slow down the game.

or higher? It helped me and others.
Hmmmm, perhaps if I try to remove some of my auto grabbers it may help. I didn't have this issue though back in September though. This is something that just started this month. Ever since I started to update my mods as they became available

uh gamergal.. running raffadax with grampleton, several large expansions, large npc mods and deluxe grabber in anything other than maybe one or two places.. is gonna kill your game
all of them are massive.. raffadax alone is huge

part of that is items so the spawning items sugestion is one, another one is messing with perfection tweaker

Just don't use SVE, honestly. The content isn't that good, it's incompatible with a bunch of other mods, and it's inefficiently coded so it causes issues

Look, Hermit, I'm glad that you've been able to use Vortex without any issues. However, a lot of other people, including a lot of experienced Stardew modders, have reported issues with it and Pathos even messaged Pickysaurus, one of the Nexus reps, to ask about whether Nexus knew about the problems
Do not use Vortex, with Stardew Valley. It doesn't matter if you use it with other games. With Stardew, it can install your mods wrong. Thank you for coming to my brief ted talk

Content Patcher is the mod through which everything is loaded, changed, and edited without having to mess with the original XNB files
Alternative Textures is a mod that changes the look of things while not replacing them
Oh so, the difference between that is
"Do you want a NEW version of this, along with the vanilla one- or do you want this to fully replace what you have at the moment?"
AT being what provides a new version of the item while giving you a choice to switch between the original and new
and CP being the one that straight up replaces vanilla

What do you need help with?
I believe I have a problem with longevity but I'm unsure and it's that whenever I catch some pink looking thing the game crashes. From googling I realised it's a flounder with some corrupted texture or something. I've googled it but it haven't helped. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

There is literally one single mod on Nexus with "fishing info" in the title and it says nothing about being incompatible with MNF

Hello, I play SDV on Mac and have two different mod folders for mod folders ā one for single, other for multiplayer. My 'Enter invite code' was not appearing, but after reinstalling the game, it works by directly launching it from the game's shortcut, where all my single player mods are loaded in. However, it does not work when I launch the multiplayer command file. I'm presuming it's because I need to launch directly through steam, any idea how I can fix this?
I'm very confused about how you are opening the game, could you elaborate a little further?
(I am on Mac and always open from Steam)
No they weren't? Lani is the one who suggested the auto-grabbers being an issue in the first place as well as telling you that the main issue was with the amount of expansions you're running. You specifically responded to Pathos alone and made no acknowledgement of Lani
I open directly by clicking either! The top one for multiplayer, the direct shortcut below opens the single player mod files

To be honest, I don't really understand the command method at all. What I do is I have a bunch of Mod folders. When I'm not using them, they're named things like "Mods (Testing)" or "Mods (SVE)", etc, and when I want to use them I rename to "Mods" and then SMAPI pulls from the one named Mods.

Collections don't really require you to ship it but rather just have it once. There is a bonus or also shipping them but if you do spawn them putting them into the bin is pretty trivial? Not like it's that many.
Otherwise just look through the cheat mods, one is probably going to have that feature.

what version of SMAPI are you on? i believe thats already been fixed
can you try opting into the beta on steam, and upgrading smapi to 3.13 and check if it still happens? (you can still downgrade to 1.5.4 later)

opt into the 1.5.5 beta on steam, upgrade to smapi 3.13 and update your mods that need an update to the beta versions
you can do everything through naver. so that level of like, "strictness" isnt too shocking because of the stuff it then allows your account to do (after verifying your identity)

I've got an issue where a farmhand is not seen as having completed a cutscene or met a criteria of sorts, and keep the farmhand from getting the updated interior of a building

So I just gave up, hope theyāll have a fix for it in a future update. We worked around the problem we had somehow. Now my farmhand got the warp to the Aurora vineyard, but canāt enter the basement after exiting it lmao
